So Mexico wants a registry of border state gun owners?

Nothing they COULD do with such a list... unless you were stupid enough to go INTO Mexico, KNOWING that you were on a police list to be singled out for "special attention".

I guess I won't be sailing to Cancun or flying into Mexico City for dental work any time soon.

Attorney General Abbott, if you're reading, what would it take to get a shrink-wrapped pallet of Texas phone books delivered to the Mexican Capitol building with a dozen yellow roses and a note?

lolz i think it would scare the crap out of the people trying to cross the border.... they would all cross at california instead

I found that hard to believe but he swore that if you stayed on the highway you entered mexico.

I wouldn't call them highways, but there are roads of a sort that will take you close enough to the border so that you can drive cross-country into Mexico.

On the Mexican side there roads that run along the border - and go nowhere... :uhoh:

Short letter from a real American president to the whatever he's called leader of Mexico IRT this request...

"Pack sand!"

Sure, we'l talk about that right after we talk about registering Mexican senders and recipients of wire transfers from the U.S. as the holders of potentially un-taxed income generated here.

Mexico can shove-it. If any country wants to know who owns guns, cars, tampons, or toothpicks in this country, they're more than welcome to come try and find out. Until then, it's nobody's business.

They would give this list to the cartels so the cartels could come take our guns and threaten our families. The do it on the border all the time.

I first vote to completely close the border with Mexico and create a registry of all immigrants in the US illegally...

Give them a Texas phone book, a New Mexico phone book, an Arizona phone book and Diane Feinstein's address. That ought to cover it

That should work, and I dare them to come test those three states to see just how that is met....

Last time I checked driving into Mexico from El paso/ Las cruces the easiest way was hwy 54. One check point that really didnt do much. Now on the NM side of the Rio I may or may not ended up in Mexico by just follow dirt rodes on a saturday night out with the guys.

No, only a guy who understands the legislative process would believe that.

Shame on Mexico and I won't ever visit there now.
Given the rampant violence affecting even the touristy areas these days, Mexico has been on my list of places to avoid for quite some time now. I actually prefer Jamaica, which itself is no stranger to violence, but its almost exclusively limited to Jamaican on Jamaican crime fueled by drugs, political interests, or in some cases, combinations of both.

And people in hell want ice water.

I wish I could say they were equally likely, but I can't.

I never saw the attraction of supporting a corrupt 3rd world government anyhow.

And those history buffs among us know that there is only one proper response to such a preposterous request.

"Nuts"
