I'm currently carrying a CW45 on my ankle, and have been doing so for about a year now. Over the last month or so, I've noticed some pain in that ankle. Not sure if it's too heavy for that or what (I'm a big guy, so it's still very concealed), but it's got me to thinking about getting something lighter. I have an LCP, but I don't really want to go with that.

That has me looking at the LC9. It's only 2 oz difference, so my question is whether or not that 2 oz might actually matter?

PS - I couldn't care less about the difference in the rounds. I'm comfortable carrying a .380 as my only carry gun, so the 9mm doesn't bother me at all. Except for the difference in the weight of a .45ACP round vs. a 9mm round.

Other than being fat and having a "uniform" that includes only a shirt w/tie and pants (no jacket), no. It's a possibility, but if I have an excuse to buy a new pistol... :D

The LC9 is a treat to carry around. I would go for the higher firepower. It's worth the 2 ounces, as you won't hardly notice it anyhow.

I can't answer the specific x versus y problem, but I carry a Glock 36 in a Galco Ankle Glove easier than I can carry a smaller, lighter pocket auto in an Uncle Mike's or DeSantis nylon holster. The latter two holsters are much more uncomfortable and cause ankle pain. The holster matters in terms of comfort.

+1; 2 oz is nothing. My CCW is a Sig P238 and I upped it by ~2 oz when I got the extended mag and didn't notice.

I would suggest consider investing in another deep concealment holster like the SmartCarry and be able to wear the .45 and an extra magazine. I am wearing one today under a suit and tie while at work. Very comfortable and very much concealed.

You could unload 2 rounds from your CW45 and see if you notice a difference carrying it.

If you are going down to a 9mm and you like the CW45 (19.7 oz), take a look at the CM9 (14 oz).

I don't think you will notice two ounces. That is if it even is two ounces. It could be more, or less, depending on how the weight is measured (empty, or loaded with a full magazine and a chambered round, as you would be carrying it).

The LC9 is only 1/2 oz lighter not 2oz. I to am a big guy. at 5-10 and 245lb Buy a quality iwb holster. I CC at a 2:10 position with a- http://www.comp-tac.com/product_info.php?products_id=114

Been useing it for a couple years. Cover with a tucked in bottom down or slightly loose t-shirt or polo type shirt. Comfy setting and driving too. many thruly tuckable iwb holsters out there .

If you got to have smaller get a kahr CM series,- th_107_4089.gif

The cm9 is smaller physiically and 1.9oz lighter. This one can also work well.

Maybe a holster design like this- http://www.thunderwear.com/holsters.asp

If you're nutnfancy, yes. Those two ounces will snap your spine if forced to carry it on long range recon patrols in a world without rule of law. And if it doesn't hold 20+ rounds of 9mm, God help you.

I carry a 642 and an LC9. In my pocket I can tell the difference. The loaded 642 is only 3 oz lighter than the LC with 7 rounds in the LC. The 642 is the one I prefer, for some reason I find the 642 better in an IWB holster also, I'll try a different IWB for the LC as the LC is easier to shoot than the 642.
