Calls to House legislators and the creation of witness slips are needed as the Illinois House considers some pro-2A and anti-gun legislation this week.

The message to legislators should be:

1) No bad Carry bill

2) No more gun bans or gun control

3) No to any other bills the City of Chicago may want until they respect the Second Amendment.

4) Thank you to those who supported Amendment 27 in the House – the Phelps carry “bill”

This week we're fighting a proposal for Illinois to divest of firearms manufacturing companies (some of the most profitable investments the Illinois pension fund holdings).

A major bill being proposed is legislation which would prevent cities from enacting local anti-gun ordinances which are more restrictive than state law. This will be important if the anit-gunners force the issue into constitutional carry.

We're also trying to get legislation passed that would bring the transportation of a firearm on an ATV in line with wildlife code and some other gun legislation.

For up to the moment updates, IllinoisCarry.com does a great job of tracking the legislative proceedings to give people current - up to date information on all the bills and all the amendments.

The old Illinois Board of Elections "Find Your Legislator" lookup function has been replaced with a new site:

The new web applet require Microsfot Silverlight just FYI.

You can also find them using the NRA site:

Just to be clear, if I do not wish to appear in person, do I select "Record of Appearance Only" or "Written Statement Filed" under Testimony?

Thanks. Actually, I registered just a few minutes ago, so now I can get busy on those slips.

Some people have probably gotten the NRA-ILA alert that anti-gun politicians in Illinois will be intriducing bills to ban semi-autos.

I'm not sure if it's easier to work it all in this thread or if I should start another thread.

There probably will be a flurry of bills that come out Tuesday and Wednesday.

The semi-auto ban will probably be introduced on Wednesday, if you want to protest it personally you can join other 2A rights activists in Springfield Illinois for IGOLD:
