Hi all.

Looking at ordering in one of the Foxpro e-callers, but baulked when the first online retailer that I tried wanted to charge roughly $150US for P&H to Australia.:what: Having bought items from the US before, I know that it doesn't cost that much.

The local importer charges as tho it costs him the same to get 'em mailed in... which would damned near double the price of the unit (Hellfire model).

As anyone prepared to suggest an online retailer who does not practice daylight robbery when it comes to P&H?

Regards.... Peter

Art...Some of us just like our toys.
Besides, I can't call foxes with a mouth call, for sour apples.

Aside from being a cheapskate, I'm lazy. I'd set the boom-box on the hood of my truck and wait for a coyote. Worked well enough that I never tried to do other than use a mouth call. :)

I dunno COOCH... That sounds so out of line as to be an honest mistake. Did you use the site's shipping calculator, was it posted on the site or did an individual communicate the number to you?

In our dealings with the UK (though I see you're of the emancipated regions) of late we've been absolutely hammered on non "gift" transactions in almost a protectionist manner.

If you're a handy guy, I'd make one. Even if you aren't particularly handy, it doesn't seem extremely difficult. A few different sites offer step by step instructions, and then you just use a memory card or something similar to play sounds that you generally download for free.

This site is one such place. It looks shoddy and homemade, but don't let that bother you. There's an obscene amount of information on the site.

Another step-by-step guide for a homemade electronic call can be found here. It includes a list of the specific parts needed.

Finally, here's a youtube video of a third homemade electronic call.

Google Varmint Al. I made one of his E-callers and it works awesome. One piece of advice though, don't use your everyday iPod to play the sounds. Nothing is worse than playing music at a party and going from Led Zeppelin to dying rabbit on shuffle.

+ 1 on varmint AL's build

And +1 on a squealing rabbit after Zepplin.

The locator sound makes for a good ring tone, until the wife is looking for her phone using yours and figures out its her ringtone.
