I posted on some other forums, but I guess nobody likes my new holster there. Maybe I will get some props here. I have been scouring the internet for years trying to find the perfect pocket holster. I don't like the fabric holsters as they tend to be bulky and they make my leg sweat and rub my leg raw. I also don't really like leather as they are also usually bulky. I don't need to be adding any more bulk to my already bulky NAA Guardian .380 so I have been leaning toward kydex. I came across a design a few years ago and never jumped on it. I figured that everyone else had a long production time so why not? I ended up ordering me a Stellar Rigs Model C with the spare magazine on board. I was really surprised to find out that it shipped within two weeks. From the moment I opened the box, I knew this was the perfect fit for me. I have carried it about a week now and it IS perfect for me. It is super light, very thin, and it does not make my leg sweat. I absolutely love it! I wonder if they can make me one for a S&W Airweight? If you have been in the same boat I was in, give them a try. Its worth it! www.stellarrigs.com

Actually no. I was concerned about that so I ordered the model with the adjustable tension screw. Even at the tightest setting, all you have to do is push off the spare magazine with your middle finger. I took a chance on that and I am very satisfied. I have used an Uncle Mike's, a DeSantis Nemesis, Remora, and a Blackhawk pocket holster. This is the best I have ever tried. The only thing I might do is add a piece of rubber grip tape to give it something to keep it from sliding around in big pockets. So far it has not been an issue, but I would rather be prepared.

I am also going to have them make me a double magazine pocket holster for the opposite pocket.

Thanks. You don't see these little guns or this type of holster around in the age of the polymer pocket rockets and sticky holsters...lol. Although, I like to stand out at times.

This holster does catch my eye and appears to really protect the pistol as well as conveniently hold the extra mag BUT I have a little concern about the printing that this holster will exhibit. I would prefer to have a right or left handed one that is much flatter on the outside. When I used to carry with my pistol naked in the pocket in jeans, I felt like the pistol was as visible as if I had it rubber banded to the outside of the pocket. I know that this is just a case of my paranoia. This holster would not be nearly as bad but still more visible than I would desire. I have a sheet of Kydex and I may try my on style with a flat/slightly rounded outside. It would look more like a large well rounded wallet to the outside. If it works, I'll report back though I have a lot of irons in the fire at the moment and will take several weeks.

Have you tried to draw from your pocket with the magazine in there?

I looked at the holster they have for the R9, It seems like having the magazine that close to the grip would slow down the draw, it's like you have to find the space between the mag and the frame and wedge your fingers in there, get a grip and then draw.

Have you tried it?

I can't see it going down far enough in a regular front pocket to be concealable. There appears to be a lot of kydex below the muzzle. I would also have concerns about the small space between the front of the grip and the magazine base. Proof will be in the wearing.

Do you intend to draw the holster from your pocket? I guess I'm at a loss as to how the magazine being on your strong side works or rather how it could work well. I too have a kydex pocket holster and like it also. It's an Alabama holster.

Looks like it may have possibilities for the J frames also. But, like Safetychain mentined, I would think you could almost read the serial number on any gun being carried.
A smooth wrap/shield with a bit of a standoff from the body of the holster might make it look more like a wallet and not as obvious.

I really like the concept and might buy one for a J frame...with the wrap.

Thanks for the link. Added to my favorites since I plan on getting a pocket holster soon.

I don't like the fabric holsters as they tend to be bulky and they make my leg sweat and rub my leg raw.

I find it extremely difficult to believe that a piece of plastic (kydex) in a pocket will not produce the same sweat issue, if not more so, than does a fabric holster.

As for the fabric holster rubbing your leg raw...I won't even comment on that one.
