Yesterday, in an attempt to buy a leather holster that actually fits my 3" SP101 Ruger I went to:
Dixie's Gun Shop in Hughesville, PA
Gander Mountain in Muncy, PA
Sauer's Trading Post in South Williamsport, PA
Troxell's in Williamsport, PA
Curt's in Mifflinville, PA
Jim's in Bloomsburg, PA
Wal Mart in Bloomsburg, PA
There is a lovely Hunter leather holster at my nearest LGS, L&R in Laddsburg, PA but it is left handed. Being somewhat ambidextrous I am thinking of giving it a try.
It was a GREAT day and I saw many cool guns but no holsters like I was looking for. If you want milsurp go to Sauer's or Curt's. If you want real bargains go to L&R. Best handgun prices on new stuff were at Troxell's. Best prices on used handguns with a huge selection were at Curt's. Best ammo supplies were at Kurt's, L&R, and Sauer's. Curt's has a one box limit on pistol ammo. The other two do not.
While I am on the subject, is anyone aware of the different wearing effect that leather might have on stainless steel vs. nylon? So many of the new holsters are in nylon.
