nevermind the AK vs AR debate.......let's get more specific.

for the amusement of the masses.......

if you were dropped into a combat zone:

Assuming we're talking about the rifles you have in those pictures?

AK. The red dot will be much faster than the AR irons. IMO, speed is key in combat.

I also have more experience with the AK.

That said, THR doesn't do "what-if" scenarios.

P.S.- Nice AK, I love the graffitied surplus mag and PK-A.

don't judge the actual rifles in the pictures. nevermind optics, stock options ect....

what if this wan't a "what if" question......

thanks. it's the PK-A venezuela. never mind the 'actual rifles'. yes, this is a cliche question......but.......whatever. mods.....feel free to delete this if it's against regulation.

My typical answer.... The AR. Ergonomics are better, accuracy is better, magazine changes are faster...

I'll take some heat for this but, the AR is just a better platform.

there is no 'wrong' answer here. thanks for the reply. keep 'em comming folks. lets hear the opinions.:)

I'll take an AK. I've got exponentially more trigger time with them.

Not really. A person trained on a decent AK will be just as effective as a person trained on an AR.

Having been dropped into a combat zone, loading ramp of a CH-47 not actually dropped I'll take a solid M4 anyday.

question applies to "have been" dropped as well as "if dropped". thanks for sharing.

One of whatever everyone else on my side has. At longer ranges, it should be comfortable and accurate. Up close, it should be simple and reliable. Not being a decade and a half-old, low bidder manufactured, teenage e-3 maintained FUBAR-16 would also be a plus, but a FUBAR-74 wouldn't excite me on any good ways, either.

I'd rather be wearing cans in the back end of a Spooky.

I'd be jumping with my Tromix Saiga, chambered in .223. Kind of a bit of both. But the poll doesn't let me vote for both. :)
