Hodgdon International Powder

It works well in .38 Special and .380, that's all I've tried. It's probably really good in .45 Colt cowboy loads too. Good luck finding any load data. Don't try to use it in any high-pressure cartridges like 9mm -- it gets dangerously "spiky"

The Lee loading book lists nothing in the common pistol calibers for International. Neither does the Hodgdon web site. Without any published load data at all, looks like it's not a candidate for pistol reloading. Lots of data for 12 gauge, tho.

International is EXCELLENT in 45ACP. Doesn't show up in many manuals, but is roughly equivalent to ADI AS 50N.
5.5 gr under a Missouri Bullet IDP #4 (200 gr LRNFP) gives ~910fps out of my 5" 1911. Burns clean, meters well.
Work up your own loads carefully.

I have used this powder for years for 380 9mm 45acp 38 special . It just works great in a lot of pistol calibers.

It`s a fairly fast powder , inbetween BE/700x & WW231 .

With no published load data, I would trade it to a shotgunner for something you can actually find data on; otherwise, you are really taking chances

For a very long time Hodgdon was recommending not using International Clays for handgun ammo. Clays and Universal Clays has plenty of data but International, not so much...

you are right there is not a lot of data for international clays. I stated out very light loads and worked the loads up. And I will say that it is as good as the clays or any other powder
that you might choose to use . But I understand about using caution when you have very little load data for a powder . You are always right if you do not choose to load a powder that you are not cumfortable with .
