I like 700's, don't get me wrong, but I've had two and traded them both for Winchester Model 70's.

Finally... Remington 700 Milspec 5R .308 with factory 20"-barrel. Stainless gun so I had it Cerakoted. Replaced factory stock with Manners T4 setup for detachable bottom metal. Added RD Precision detachable bottom metal and bolt knob. Atlas front rail and bipod. Murphy Precision 20MOA scope base (also Cerakoted). Leupold Mark 4 LRT scope with M3 turrets and TMR, Mark 4 rings, Flatline Ops Accu-level and ACI. More money than I've ever spent on a firearm by a longshot and a really fun project both to assemble and shoot.

10-13-2012; Cold, but beautiful. I, was able to run about 50 round's through the .223, but as you can see from group number 2 I, wasn't doing to well. The bipod is to tall causing me to have to fight the gun for a good sight picture. So my LGS is ordering a shorter one for me.

Well... I have done all I will do to it until I shoot a few hundred rounds through it...

Started as R700, .308 Varmint

Added Choate USS and Nikon Buckmasters

I treasure my stainless BDL in 7MM Rem Mag, silver Leopold VXlll, black stock. Hands down the ideal deer rifle.

New 700 SPS Varmint .223

Hey, I'm new to this forum, and have just recently got into shooting again after almost 15 years out of the Marines. I'm not into hunting, just find it relaxing and fun to shoot targets.

So I bought a 700 SPS Varmint in 223, put a millet TRS-1 with EGW Rail and Millett tactical rings and a B&C Medalist 'hook' stock.

I was used to shooting an A2 with open sights at 500 yards in the marines, so shooting a scoped rifle is a real eye-opener in terms of how accurate you can get! I'm really happy with this thing!

Anyway, here's a target I shot with 55grain Hornady VMAX Moly. It's .45 MOA average, best group was .21. It was only 100 yards though. I need to find a 3-4-500 yard range near me!

Anyway, good info here, thanks!

A question for my fellow 700 owners. Do you know of anyone that makes a nice machined sear to replace the MIM part on newer Remingtons?

Well here is my 300WM. Custom blueprinted and trued by Wetworks Rifles, Manners T-5A chassis, Timney trigger, custom muzzle brake, Neer scope base, and NightForce ATACR 5-25x56mm w/ 34mm NightForce rings.

Now my plinker, it's a SPS Tactical AAC-SD, with trigger job(11oz), and re-bedded and epoxy strengthened Hogue stock. It is topped by a Vortex Viper 6.5-20x50.

700 ADL .270win, Leupold VX-2 3-9x40, my deer rifle for the last 10 years.

700-2_zpsb55fc8b3.jpg

SPS Tactical .223, VLS stock, EGW bolt handle. Cheap Bushnell 6-24 scope that will hopefully be replaced soon with a Leupold.

I've shot it a little and it shoots right at 1" at 100. I'm starting to reload for it now and I'm anxious to get the backstop finished at our range so I can see what it can do.

This rifle is already in the thread, but I figure it's different enough now I can post it again

Super nice rifles guys

Thanks CDJ! It's come a long ways from the beginning and its been a lot of fun. It also fills the role of my (very heavy) hunting rifle.

Shameless plug: the Bushnell 6500 on it pictured earlier is now for sale if anyone is looking!

Man, there are some great looking rifles in this thread!

Hi Rollis R. Karvellis, I totally didn't think to post specs, I'll do that so anyone that wants to build something similar can look into it.

-HS Precision PST025 Olive with black web. HS has it on their site for $659, think I got it for less, but that was years ago. Even had it in stock, so no wait.
-Harris bipod 9-13" swivel and detents.
-Action trued. Marksman bolt knob from PCR in AZ.
-Shilen trigger, 3lbs.
-Brux barrel 1:10 twist, .308 ....light varmint contour I think?
-Badger thruster brake
-Seekins 20moa base and rings
-USO, 3.2-17x, 30mm, OD, MPR reticle (red ilum), erek knob, internal bubble level

Think that's it unless someone wants to gift me a detachable mag setup ;) . Pales in comparison to some of the others here!
