It may actually be getting better.

Cabela's had everything but 9mm and 22lr tonight. Prices seemed about where they used to be when not on sale.

I really don't care, haven't shot since January and I don't bother to look for ammo now.

I figure maybe in 6 months I'll try again, if prices haven't gone down then to being reasonable I 'll wait a few more months.

I was able to buy 22lr for the first time last week! so yes its getting a little better (emphassis on little). But You still have to get to the LGS right when they open to be able to get your hands on any ammo.

My LGS has plenty of 22 this week. He started letting customers by 100 rounds of 22 at a time a month or so back... Put a sign up in efforts to be fair to all customers we are selling 100 rounds of 22 caliber per each customer....

Some like it, some hate it! but his supply has now caught up to a good pace based on his customers.

I can regularly go by 3 times a week and get my 100 rounds, He has ample supply most of the time of 22 short long and long rifle in CCI

Got me 2 box LR today and wed I will get 100 22L .... I am finding these to be a joy to plink with actually.

I was in the Elgin, IL area last week and stopped at G.A.T. They had just about every handgun and rifle caliber ammo available, but limited sales to one box per caliber per person, and five 50-round boxes of 22LR per person. Prices were only a bit higher than what I recall before this latest panic situation of the last 8 months or so. I was able to buy a box of 45ACP, 38 Special, 40S&W, and 250 rounds of 22LR for just about $100. Everything I bought were known brands to me, even if not known as the "best", but there were also many brands that I never heard of at somewhat lower prices. I am hoping that this means that the ammo situation is really easing. But here in Rockford there is still a severe shortage, where a shipment of 9mm at MC Sports apparently sold old within an hour of arrival at the store.

I was finally able to buy some Federal HST ammo. That stuff was a little hard to find before the craziness set in. I can't find target ammo for a good price but at least my defensive ammo is stocked up.

320rounds 5.56mm, 2 windowed PMAGS, and 2 Lancer AWM mags (PMC, American Eagle, Prvi, and Federal) for $150.

Just picked up 3 boxes of Winchester 9mm at Wally World for $13.50 a box.

There is a ton of ammo for sale on a local board. Everyone is asking insane prices for ammo so I just lowball people until they accept the inevitable.

What is the best price people are finding for .223 or 5.56? Thanks.

Academy on my way home from work today has 55gr fmj "monarch" for $5.99/20 and another brand for $10.99/20.

They also have 9mm for around $12/box iirc.

They have started displaying it more prominently at the front/service counter. For awhile either they didn't have it or they didn't show it.
