Got some stuffy mo fo's here on THR

This is the second time I offered something to somebody for zip, zero nil, free and I have not got even a boo about it from anyone.

First was 7.62x54R reloadable brass.

Now a handful of Berger bullets.

Now, why does anyone suppose this is?

I mean, not even a no thanks for criminy sakes.

What...........too many horse mouth inspectors around this place?

Well I saw that and thought it was a cool offer. There's that Blarby "pass it along" or something thread here. There's actually a lot of cool people here.

I bet there's some deserving prairie dogs you could give them to. The best pdog shooting I've done in my life has been down in CA.. that part about it was/is heaven!

Hey Bigdaa, I would love to try them.

And I understand about the lack of thank you's sometimes. I gave away two boxes of 100 ct. 38spc Hornady rounds to a couple of guys in the pay it forward thread. One I got a response from when he got them. The other I had to shame into letting me know he got them. And I even paid the shipping as well!

Anyway, send me a PM with your address and I'll send you the shipping cost along with my address.

Thanks
Jim

Yeah, join the club.

A guy got on here once and wanted to buy a cheap scope. I told him not to. He said that he couldn't afford anything better. So, I sent him a brand new, in the box, scope; the exact one he wanted.
Never heard a damn thing back from him.

Another time I sent a guy something worth over $100 because he was asking about it on-line and I had one sitting here that I knew I would never use again: again, no thank you, kiss my butt, or anything.

I'm thinking of making some sub-sonic rounds for a 223 bolt action for beaver hunting. I know this is possible because I accidentally did it in some 308 workups.

Anyone had experience doing this. I've read that some have done this using pistol powders.
I know nothing about beaver hunting. I am curious, what distance would you shoot at and what accuracy/group sizes would be acceptable?

Tommy,

I find a dam and make a small cut in it. Beavers cannot stand running water so they will start coming to it late in the day to fix it. I am usually in my Polaris Ranger parked about 30-40 yds away where I can see above the dam. With the 22lr subsonic round, they have to be hit squarely in the top of the head, say 2" max. My Ruger bolt will shot touching holes with subsonics at 40 yds. I have a depredation permit which allows me to kill them at night. That is the reason for using subsonic rounds so as not to wake up people trying to sleep.

The next morning we blow up the dam with dynamite so that it will have all day to drain. In spring with the rains, they can build a dam 4' wide that'd holding back 2' of water overnight.
