I went to my local gun emporium this past Saturday and I scored this NIB GP100 ( Model # KGP-151 Davidson Exclusive 5" Edition ). Heck I didn't even know they produced a 5" GP100 anyway I am excited to have this beauty.

I love my KGP141. The grips today on the GP's I find ugly. I like the original with the wood inserts myself. I changed them though for a set of Uncle Mikes rubber grips. GP is the way to go.

Nice score! For what it's worth, Skeeter Skelton was rather fond of 5" revolvers, if I recall c'rectly...

Ruger does all kinds of distributor exclusives, Wiley Claps etc. GP100 is my favorite utility .357 and you have an exclusive one that might be worth a few bucks in a couple decades.

I just unloaded an oddball speed six for beaucoup

I've always preferred 5" barreled revolvers over 4" or 6". Just seems more balanced to my eye. I'm not a fan of the Rugers but that seems to be an interesting version of the GP-100. Congratulations on finding it and I hope you enjoy owning and shooting it.

Darn nice looking gun, congrats. We have 4" and 6" GP100s, I've always wished for one in the middle, looks as if you found one. Oh well, just one more to put on the radar.

I had a 4" barrel GP-100 years ago and just didn't like the way it balanced in my hand. Maybe a 5" barrel might just be worth taking a look at. Thanks for the heads-up.

Man, that's a very nice gun.

Mark me down as 'jealous'.

Normally 4" is my ideal barrel length, but that 5" looks perfect on the GP100. bulldozer-tough gun like that should be able to deliver some really nasty .357 loads.

I've got one just like that and it shoots like a dream. Very balanced and is far more accurate than I am I'm sure.

Have run factory ammo and full powerhouse down to 38 spcl. target reloads with no problmes at all.

It's one of my favorite wheelies to shoot. Good score for you!

maybe we can start a club. only 3" & 5"...not 4s and 6s. it's funny what feels good in your hand. maybe we could invite the autos with 5.5s too. anybody else got a s&w heavy .38/44 with the 5"?

Does 2.75" count as close enough to a 3"? I've got a Speed Six sitting on the table in front of me that would love to join!

Ditto !! I have one in 6", and I really love her, probably my #1 favorite pistol, but I sometimes wish I'd gone with the handier 4", but I think I like that 5" even better !!

Thanks everyone , It was " dumb luck " I wasn't even looking and didn't even know about them. Maybe that's the way to look at it then one will be available when you least expect it
