I currently drag a computer to the field to pull the game cam cards and check out what's going on. Swapping cards isn't an option as I do this a lot before I hunt and going home just to read the cards ain't happenin'. What options have you seen to make this more convenient? I've seen some SD readers for iPad, but I only have the iPhone and most seem to be incompatible or are sold by foreigners who can't answer the simplest of questions. Who's got a trick up their sleeve? I currently have the iPone 4s and Kindle Fire HD to work with if there are any known (working) SD devices for them. Viewing and keeping files are the 2 requirements.

i still swap out cards and bring the cards home to look at them. i have el cheapo primos truthcams so i usually have about 600-1000 images over a period of about a week - not sure i would want to sift through all that on my iphone.

one of the card readers hooked up might work for you, but could have compatibility issues could always use a cheap camera or buy a viewer.

I carried a camra with me simple to see your pics if there was some tha t I wanted to look at closer I would bring them home and upload them on the computer.

I only have one camera and it's out in the woods behind my house. I walk back there every morning to check the hog trap and bait if necessary, then check the game camera on the way in and swap the card if there's many shots on it.

Taking the camera to check the card is a possibility, but I'd need a magnifying glass for MY camera. the screen is a bit small.

Well KMatch, if you aren't willing to take the time to check your own cameras in the field, then you are pretty much left with cellular game cameras, but you have to have the correct cell service in the area you hunt for them to work.

Not like that at all... Between work, home, hunting area, the computer sometimes gets left at work or home. Phone is always in my pocket. Camera and photo frame are good ideas other than they can't transfer pics from one device to another, but still doable for a quick checkup in the field.

My bad, but if you are apt to leave your computer behind, then are you not also apt to leave other things behind? You might always have your phone with you, but will you always then remember to bring along the adapter? So it is rather a catch-22.

With that said, have you looked into Air-Stash?

Nah... Other things can stay in the Jeep. The puter goes to work. Some cheap iphone adapter, if I could verify one that works, or the viewer above sound good, although the viewer is a bit pricey for used (discontinued). I DO like the looks of the AirStash! Thanks! Have any of you used one? The batch import looks promising - I'd like to know more about that function.

I am not an "i" anything user but from what I read, the iOS that works for the pads is not the same as for the phones and so the phones don't directly take SD cards via their USB ports and I found that your version of the Kindle doesn't do SD cards (although there were apparently versions that do). So I searched iPhone SD card reader and after going through several sites, I found the AirStash and one other product and the other one apparently didn't work too well.

I suggest you Google AirStash and reviews and see what you come up with. It seemed like a reasonable alternative, though I didn't check the price.

I have a card reader that plugs into my iPad and we take photos from my wife's camera and pull the SD card to view them on the iPad...it's really quick and easy to use. I think we just picked it up at Best Buy

I use my NOOK to read micro sd cards in the field. All of my camera's either use a sd card or a micro sd. They make adapters for the micro to a regular SD card as well.

Anyway a NOOK, Kindle Fire, or small digital camera with a good screen like a Cool Pix from Nikon which is a great camera at a affordable price point.

I haven't tried the iphone...got those too. I will give it a try and let you know how it works
Will you let us know if it works and which adapter you have? I've read the same - most don't work with the iphone. "Most" keeps me from testing "which" ones don't work. On Ebay, all of them advertise the complete i line of equipment, but the real world proves different. If yours doesn't work, I'm looking into the airstash for its overall usefulness.
