The question should be "..from the CIA's network, for the rebels".
Having often read foreign news articles in the Wall Street J., this new US policy made me curious whether the CIA as middleman, or 'whoever', would find surplus small arms ammo in foreign countries.

Maybe the main weapons sent via Turkey etc will be anti-tank rpgs and mortars.
But if small arms ammo are critical, due to the rebels' reportedly typical "lack of fire discipline" and "hoarding", would 7.62x39 be the vast majority of the ammo provided, or the only type of rifle ammo except for Nato 7.62?

Some guys/gals here are recent veterans of "The Sandbox" and/or have an intell. background. Our troops in Jordan are said to be the guys who will train some of the rebels.

I dunno but the Mexican cartels are gonna be pissed when they find out we're giving their guns to the Syrians.

Yugoslavia is a good source of ammo. We have Bulgaria, Romania , POland and many former eastern bloc who can fill in the small arms.

Not to mention diverting quite a good bit of Russian ammo through shell companies to the rebels as well. If there's a need and money, the void can be easily filled.

We can hope that the eastern 'Euro Zone' and Russia must have many times what the CIA's "companies" (i.e. the old Delaware Corp.) would need for them. That would help indicate why surplus x54R has been back to normal prices for weeks.

Maybe it won't reduce enough of the potential ammo to be exported to the US, at least not enough to influence prices here.

Afraid Russia will have some very nasty surprises for the US if Obama initiates a no fly zone in Syria, the upgraded S-300 anti-aircraft missile system is the best there is.

Also read today that Iran is going to be deploying thousands of troops to Syria to fight for Assad against the rebels. This is shaping up to become a full fledged proxy war.

Obama is so full of it, I am not sure if he is willing to make a beer fart in a whirl-wind right now. Dumb S.O.B might send em bows and arrows... :neener:

I can't say but I remember watching a Frontline i think it was, episode where this guy had a AUG, surprised me like you can't believe:eek:
I also think they said that that guy, or someone else, had a connection in Turkey that was sending ammunition.
