I bought 5-rounders from Brownells about 10 years ago when my uncle finally reacquired my father's 23AA that he'd sold just after WWII. My uncle knew who had it all along and just had to wait until the man was ready to sell it.

I believe these are the mags that work in my Cooper 57 too, but I'd have to go dig them out and doublecheck to be sure.

Thank you for these two posts and links to suppliers. Do you know if the Savage 23AA only shoots 22 long rifle? A scope is mounted so that it covers the description of the bullet type. Need to remove it and see. Photos show it as 22 long rifle.

The ones I've seen all say .22 LR on the barrel.
However, here's a thread with pics of the first and last Savage ads for the 23AA and they say LR, L & S.

Pretty much any manual-action rifle in 22lr can shoot any rimfire 22 ammo being 22lr, 22 long, and 22 short. This does NOT work in reverse though.
