AR panic leaving TX

Was at a gun show in Jackson Ms. july 6&7, Many vendors had already dropped their prices to pre-panic levels..... Many show goers were trying to sell/trade rifles they bought they bought at $1600- $2500 to dealers who had the same item new in the box for sometimes less than half the price. These folks brought this on themselves! LMAO!!!!
We don't need another Sandy Hook to bring this back, we still have Ben Bernanke printing money, dumping $85 Billion a month in the stock market! (QE4) The world is trying to figure out a way to remove the dollar as the world reserve currancy without decimating themselves in the process.

Local Wal-Mart had 3 black rifles in the case today, though I couldn't see makes and prices (and a guy was waiting for his 4473 to go through, so I didn't bother the staff just to look). And the shortage has caused several major manufacturers to ramp up production - I'm seeing stripped lowers for pre-panic prices of $79-$99 several places, LPKs in stock at $60-, and similar. Just recently one company offered a stripped lower, LPK and collapsible buttstock for $150-, and I bought the max allowed of 3. Complete uppers are starting to come back in stock, and are available at a range of price points from introductory to professional. I shop the deals but try not to skimp on quality.

The great irony of this administration trying to pass increased gun control measures is that Americans are now far better armed than they were beforehand. Payback's a Bear, ain't it???

The local cabelas has racks of ARs and even some ammo for them. At this point it's ammo people are still wanting. .308 is available, but .223/5.56 is still in short supply around here.

I was at the Cabelas in Buda, Texas on Monday. They had 10 racks of Modern Sporting Rifles of all flavors. Most of them were ARs. Prices were just under $800 on some. Other prices went from there and up.

There was plenty of .223 or 5.56 ammo as well. With Herter's steel case going for $6.99 a box (if I remember correctly) and brass cased Prvi Partizan going for $8.99 a box. Federal started at $9.99 a box depending on type.

There was still a 100 round limit on buying .22 LR or .22 WMR ammo though.

In 1999 the price of generators spiked, and finding one was difficult. I figured I'd be able to pick up a couple in a few years when the impulse buyers needed some space, moved, or found the gas had turned to varnish and clogged the carburetor.

I watched for paper and Craigslist for years, expecting to take my pick of ads for a nearly-new generator, but there was just the usual occasional junker for sale.

It has been thirteen years now. I guess everyone just held on to those generators...

We are fully stocked out here in CA as well and prices are back to normal.

what good is a "cheap" 1000 dollar AR if shooting a couple of boxes of ammo is like filling up your truck
