What 452 is it?
I'm torn between the trainer and the lux.
I will have one of those in the safe before to long!

How did it group?

I have 5 CZs and have shot at least a dozen more. With Automatch, which isn't a true target ammo, you can expect 1/2" to 3/4" groups consistently at 50. Group sizes will generally get smaller with a subsonic target ammo.

Ditch-Tiger,
If you decide on the Trainer (which is great, BTW) look for a used or NOS model with the tangent rear sight. As with almost everything good, they have been discontinued, but are still available used or "as new."

Inside of 50 yards and from field positions, I do as well with the open sights as I could with a scope.

CZ is still making Trainers. Their website says they have a limited supply, though...The Lux and Trainer are the same gun with two different kinds of wood. The 452 Lux, Ultra Lux, Trainer, and Full Stock all have the same tangent sights.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but....
The lux has a 28" bbl vs the trainers 24" bbl, is 28" to much bbl for a 22lr?

For maximum velocity, yes. For a longer sight radius, quiet shooting, double takes from others at the range, outstanding accuracy, and just shear CZ awesomeness, NO.

I hope to snag a Lux, with the 28" barrel, I've become partial to the longer sight radius on my Remington 41, and Winchester 67. I think longer barrel lengths on 22s is sorta a thing of the past aside from this particular CZ. Seems like it would be a pleasant shorter, especially at longer distances. I could see it in my mind as a 100 meter (as per the tangent sights) shooter.

The 28 inch barrel is an Ultra Lux. It comes with tangent sights that are the best I've ever seen on a factory rifle in the 350-400$ price range. That said it's a natural for peep sights like the Brno Match Sights.

This sight has extras... an adjustable iris and sun shade.
