Here is a cool thing - one of the guys from the show (Pete Palma - the sharp dressed Marine sniper!) actually invented a magazine cleaning kit. The genius behind it is that he made it roughly the same shape and size as a real magazine so that it fits in standard carry gear... but a little bigger so that there can be no mistake and seat it in a real weapon.

Here is a review in Recoil magazine http://www.recoilweb.com/ms-clean-magazine-shaped-cleaning-kit-28399.html

Pete is a really great guy, very smart (with a wild crazy side that makes him entertaining to watch in the show house for hours on end). Nice to see someone from the show branching out and adding cool gear to the shooting world !!

Good job by my favorite guy Peter Palma, great job by Adam keeping it calm, cool and collected.

Wow...the whole show just blew me away.

I was dumbfounded at how poorly they did with the SIG 229...at least it wasn't my two favorites going against each other in the Elimination

Outstanding diversity in firearms tonight.

Pete sure proved practice makes perfect...even with a stick and cantalopes.

Adam the way you are handling the wheel guns, after telling us you don't have any, reminds me of the Quigley line.... "didn't say I couldn't use them". Very nice shooting the cans.

I think your focus on the manual of arms, being most important, using the cannon saved the day.
Congrats on a hard earned win against an opponent everyone must see as a vetern of the elimination challenges..Glad you will be back next week.

Shooting a cannon would be a heck of a last shot. Hope Kelly really enjoyed it, he is a great All Star.

Trick shooting is always a nail biter, sometimes the contestants make it look SO easy, other times it's sweaty palms and jitters.

Sad to see Kelly go as he was such a 'technician' for lack of a better word. But Adam, way to rock it.

Any comments about the winds effect on the Q-tip shot, by the guys shooting?
Such as...not a consideration, or adjusted and should not have?

It did not look like Gunny ever lowered the rifle completely to refresh.
On a shot that tight I would probably have needed to, although it did not help Phil.
Gary must still be grinning ... truly amazing at any distance.

I have seen every episode since the beginning. This season is SO much better with the lack of drama!
Adam - question I've been wanting to ask - do you guys who are not in the "elimination challenge" still get to do them off camera? Some of those are really cool and I was wondering if everybody gets a "shot" at them just for fun?
And thanks for coming on here! Very cool to get your perspective!

I agree. This show has been close to unwatchable in previous seasons with all the "Real Housewives" style drama. Now It's pretty good, although that sad sack hosting it is pretty infuriating some times.

Couple things.

1. Kelly was right, squad challenges suck, he was 1&2 on every individual challenge but lost all his squad challenges. I wish either they'd keep everything individual or stuck with the team system of past years.
2. Is tossing an object literally right in front of you and shooting it really that much of a challenge? I would love to test it myself but I have no feasible way to do that at my local ranges.

OK Adam, BEST line from TOPSHOT yet.

"Vanquished the Uberchild"

+1, I had a good chuckle over that one. In general, Adam seems to have a witty turn of phrase for everything which keeps me highly entertained. Well done with the cannon, Adam!

Try it with a pellet or airsoft pistol and an orange. It was sort of enlightening, there is definitely an optimal technique to it

So even though there are already commercial breaks on Top Shot on History's website, now they decided to stop it mid challenge/sentence to sneak in another 2 minute commercial. Not worth it at this point unfortunately. Now I'm with the rest of my friends that have stopped watching although for a different reason. :(
I never minded commercials (that's the point of making shows for them) but this is ridiculous.

Content - I don't remember the guys saying anything special about the wind, but it may have been only because we always had bad wind and it always made shots harder. Probably no sense mentioning the obvious.

Racinfan - NO, we do not getto shoot any weapons nto directly involved with our challenges. So no other people got to shoot the cannon (except for maybe Colby who I suspect fires a couple shots on everythingbefore we get to the set)

The cannon was a fantastic opportunity, to get to send a top guy home with a real piece of history. And HUGE explosions with every shot. I think my experience with muzzleloading may have helped a bit because I was comfortable going through the load/clean cycle. But we were neck and neck through the first couple of shots. To hear those simultaneous explosions was incredible !! Thanks all for the kind words...

That is great, not complaining about an equal and random hazard is the sign of a pro.

I thought that might be the reason Chis said it would not help, to take his time as Kelly suggested.

From this group, I thought the comments would be "that strong gust cost ya on your third shot ..tough luck"..sort of thing.

It's funny how context plays such a big part in how people perceive things on the show. One reason why some more footage in the house is good, and why I like to help with some behind-the-scenes moments.

When Chris told Kelly "not helping" during the challenge, it had nothing to do with wind. Chris just doesn't like Kelly very much and his advice (while meant to be helpful) was very much unwelcome and just another bother while Chris was trying to make a tough shot... probably the toughest.

Do they purposely set up the range to give you guys a crosswind all the time? Sure seems like it from watching the flags....

And I wish they would have a season for those like me who love guns, used to shoot a LOT, and are pretty good - but who don't have enough $ or place to shoot regularly..;):D Make it a lottery pick and I would take my chances with that...LOL
