Yesterday I bought a new Springfield xds 6 shot .45acp for $550 out the door. Since I'm coming up to my 3 year anniversary on quitting smoking cigs. I figure I've saved at least $12K over the last 3 years.

The gun listed for $600. Did I get a fair price? I wanted to give my business to my lgs rather than some bix name store as I believe in Mom and Pop businesses.

I paid $625 for my XDs, an Uncle Mike's pocket holster (which sucks, FYI) and two boxes of ammo. I think the pistol itself was $550 but the receipt doesn't say.

Not bad compared to the list price. Springfield Armory has been selling them for $460.00 and less at the National Rifle matches being held at Camp Perry since July 8. They have a lot of great deals and are selling lots of guns.

Not a bad price these days, in fact, not bad at all. Is it best to price check befor, or after the purchase :D
BTW, I think you will be impressed with the XDs, got about 700rds through mine, no issues, feeds every type SD ammo I have tried and loves my 200gr lswc. Good luck

Good price, good gun, and a great habit to quit.

Congrats on both. I'm 4.5 years into being quit, and I'm gratefull everyday I did. Ironically enough, I haven't saved a dime since quiting, but I sure do have some nice guns now...........:D

Way better use if money, isn't it?

Kodiak, Congrats to you too. It was a hard habit to break for sure. I tried just about everything (stop smoking clinic, acupuncture, hypnosis, patches, chanatix and others). I had actually given up trying to quit when I had the faith of a mustard seed and knew that Jesus could take away my addiction. I bowed my head in prayer and asked Him to take away my addiction and immediately He did. I had no withdrawals either. It was a miracle.

You should forget the price you paid and enjoy the gun. A $50 bill one way or another should never prevent you from buying what you want. As one of my customers told me after I was debating with myself over a watch I wanted. "Treat yourself, you are dead for a very long time"
Yea, I bought the watch and never looked back.

The bi-tone is about $550 before tax so if your walk out is $550 you paid a fair price. Given the popularity fo the XDS9, I'm starting to see quite a few XDS45 out there in the used market now.

Got mine when it came out, traded an EMP 40 for the gun and 4 hundred in cash that I bought a Benelli Nova with it. I think that was a fair deal for both, it was new in the box. Carried it for the past year. Now I switch between that and a Kahr PM9. I like the Kahr for size and weight and find myself carrying it more and more, and leaving the XDS with a light and extended mag on it for my nightstand gun, along with the Kahr, I keep 4 extra mags, for each in a jewelry box on the nightstand. I am now all 9, and 45. Wanted to get away from the 40 for good. Too much twist on the recoil for these 65 yr. old hands.
After a half dozen 40's I haven't found one I shot as well as most other calibers including just about every pistol caliber out there other than the monsters like 454.
