Their kit bags are great. I like how they have different sizes based on need. I've never had a problem regarding fit. They always fit snug. I don't have an issue with my firearm moving, but they maybe due to the type of firearm one carries.

I looked at those but I don't like the idea of sweeping your offside arm during the draw. You use your offside arm to unzip it, and your barrel is lined up directly with your bicep. During a high stress draw your finger will be searching for the trigger. People will (wrongly) blame the Serpa holster for inadvertent discharges, this thing looks much worse.

Sweeping your own arm- STRIKE ONE
Two hands to deploy- STRIKE TWO
Looks silly in anything other than a zombie encounter- STRIKE THREE.

I don't have a HPG Kit bag, but the draw motion is very much like a dedicated CC fanny pack which was given to me, which is an awkward, 2-handed, 120 degree sweeping nightmare (and nothing like the rapid, 4 o'clock strong side draw I train with in USPSA, etc.) I'm not re-training myself for a weird draw stroke.

I have decided, that where legal & practical when backpacking or hiking - I open carry in a dedicated gun belt & holster rig slightly below the waist line below my pack belt resting comfortably on the upper hips. That way I can carry any sidearm I choose, and especially the one I am most proficient with - my S&W 586. Even in semi-crowded Ohio - open carry is becoming more and more of a no big deal.

If I decide that I absolutely must CC (like during scouting outings.) I just were a lighter pack and buckle the waist belt behind my pack and use my main city CCW rig- a comfortable IWB holster & Ruger SP101.

FWIW - Most reviews I have seen are positive & that the folks at HPG are excellent to deal with.
