I have began my therapy a month ago and I still have a problem

When I hunt, I make the shot....... I think.... Where did the brass go.......

When I go to the range, i find myself shooting at the target and then glancing down fir where the brass went........

When I pick up brass at the range, (where I am allowed, and where the other shooters have left) I pick up brass for my calibers...... But also ones I dont have ......... Yet

Somebody hep me! This reloading has become an obsession

:what:

My friends and I are the same way.

Ever seen a herd of wild hogs eating acorns? That's about like us on the floor of the firing line. Oh.. And hunt with a single shot. Pretty easy to find your case that way. :)

Congrats! As long as you can enjoy shooting and are polite to others who are shooting then it's not a problem. If you start bothering other people on the line or it causes other issues then you've crossed over.

Good brass is worth something to many of us and that encourages us to spend a few minutes picking it up. Other people don't see value it in and therefore leave it behind.

I just go when the range is closed, take gloves and scour everywhere for free brass. I'm hoping there's plenty out yesterday and today sighting in their deer rifles, that way I can scour a lot tomorrow morning when I go. :D

We`d get along just fine !!

First things first at the range , You`d see me bent over scrounging brass or pickin thru the trash cans !!

Addicted , YES ! , but I can stop ANYTIME I want ,but just don`t want to !!!

I cast my own & have turned around /stopped traffic to pick up a wheel weight !!

Anyways ,all this does`nt get in the way of me enjoying shootin/huntin , but WORK surely does !!

& Yes I catch my brass after a shot.

The good news, you're not the only one. I behave in a similar way.

The bad news, it'll just get worse.

Ahh, after a couple thousand pounds of brass in storage you should be able to get more picky on the ones that you pick up :)

This current ammo shortage has been very hard on me. As diligently as I look, the pickings have been very slim at the range.

There was one day recently when I lost more 9mm ammo then I found.

Do you actually find yourself not shooting semi-autos because you can't get past the concern might lose some brass?

That might indicate a problem.

Thats what they all say. You can't help yourself unless you admit you have a problem that you can't fix by yourself. Check around, there must be a 12 step program for you. Anybody know of a clinic that can provide treatment for this tortured soul?

The range I was at yesterday had hundreds of corroded brass pieces:eek:

If only I would have been there.........

:banghead:

I try to get 25% more brass than I came with......its easy on the pistol range

But yesterday, I lost a 6.8 brass piece...... Still mourning....

I am proud to say I have yet to lose any brass hunting. But when I shoot a deer, I like to keep that piece of brass as a keepsake and not reload it.

I plead guilty, but still pick up any loose brass. I am beyond help, and don't care!

Get a metal detector and never lose another piece of brass again. I had to do it so I could sleep at night. Finding every piece of brass is almost an obsession. kwg

Gimme my brass!

A new range just opened a few miles away, and they had a coupon for an introductory free range visit. Sadly, the guys on the local forum said the range owners (for safety) won't allow picking up of brass. If it hits the floor, you lose it. Needless to say, I declined the offer and emailed the owners to tell them why they will never see a dime of my money. Their competitors do not have this restriction.

While it is understandable they don't want shooters going forward of the firing line, the brass behind the line should be retrievable.

The only time I won't pick-up brass is if it's ahead of the line and there's live fire going on. It has crossed my mind though. I recently spent 10 minutes looking for a couple of 10mm cases that went into hiding.

The first thing I do, after setting up, is mosey around and pick up brass. Funny thing is I don't own a 9, 40 or 45 (I shoot all revolvers) but I can't let a piece of good brass on the ground. I just wish there was some .38, .357 or .44 Special on the ground once in a while :).

I was able to help out a new reloader with a free bag of 9 brass a while ago.

About the only brass I pick up anymore is .45 ACP. Everything else might as well be .22 cal and thats about the only thing left laying around on the ground anymore. Lead is the new "Brass" for me!
