Which Glock has the reputation as 'most' reliable?

Ironically the biggest piece of junk Ive owned in 40yrs of shooting was a gen2 17.
Luckily I got my money back when it failed to fire 45 of 50 bullets through it. (something wrong with the frame as there was a definite drag)

BTF is not a reliability issue IMO
Interesting opinion.

I'm not sure what else you'd call a gun who's extractor doesn't control the case it is extracting while trying to pull it back to the ejector to be kicked clear of the ejection port. I would think the last place you'd want an empty case bouncing around would be between a moving slide, barrel and rising cartridge column.

I'd think it sounds more like a recipe for a jammed case causing a slide stoppage; the fact that most cases seem to get out of the ejection port is a tribute to the flex and violence of the operating cycle

The early Gen 3 G17s are good too, before they went to MIM extractors.

I bought a 19 late gen 3 and right off the bat I had stovepipes and brass to the face. I sent it back to glock twice before they installed a new extractor and ejector. Runs fine for now, but I'll have to put a lot of rounds thru her before I really trust her. Glock needs to go back to their old extractors.

I don't think BTF is a reliability issue either, annoying but reliability is if the gun cycles or not.

I'd say any 9mm over 5 years old. The last Glock I bought I deliberately went old for that reason.

I've used Gen 2 and 3 Glocks for many a year.

Used them in IPSC and IDPA. Used them for carry for years.
Been to many a shooting school with both LEOs and civilians.
Taught CHL for 10 years and saw many a gun both on my range and the DPS range near Austin.

And I have to say the Gen 2 and 3 Glock 17s are the most reliable pistols I've ever encountered... BAR NONE.

Yes, I've had Glocks in 17, 19, 26, 27, 33, 23, 32, 22 29, 20, and 31!

All have been quite reliable. But the 17, my 17, has passed the Glock .vs. 1911 1000 round matches where one fires 1000 rounds without cleaning. I've also fired over 100,000 rounds through it.

Yes I have 1911s (Colt, DW, and Kimber), Sigs, S&Ws, Brownings, etc... but right now the Glocks are the ones that are most reliable.

Not saying I would not take my Colt Commander, or Browning P35, or Sig 229 to a fight, They are all good to go, it's just the Glocks are king in the reliability department.

bought 2 gen 3 g19's,had the brass in the ace probs, but they always fired .sent them and my g26 back to glock.19's had new extractor /ejectors replaced, and had rhem replace the serated triggers on all 3.other than that probs, the 19's and my gen 2 17 function flawless.

I had G36 that refused to shoot hollow point ammo. Hated that because it shot FMJ or expanding FMJ like gang busters

I suspect the Glocks that are really most reliable are the 31, 32, and 33, since nothing feeds more reliably than the 357 Sig. There just aren't enough of them out there to be as well represented as the other chamberings.

I'll go with the G21, I have yet to find anything it won't eat.

The only Glock I ever had jam was a 36, regardless of ammo quality.

But the 17, my 17, has passed the Glock .vs. 1911 1000 round matches where one fires 1000 rounds without cleaning.

Wasn't the "challenge" 1000 fastest rounds regardless of pistol maker...
Of the vids I've seen a Para did it and the Glocks malfunctions were blamed on ammo... Go figure...

I am not really a Glock fan, but shouldn't the question be reversed?

Which Glocks are NOT reliable, given good ammo? I have seen a few Glocks with problems but none specific to a given model or models.

Chuck Taylor ( REAL 1911 lover) Once did a test and shot like a bazillion rounds thru his glock and nary a problem. Not sure which model or gen though. Might could google it.

My early (2 pin frame) G17 has never had any reliability issues. And I have no clue as to how many rounds have been through it. And I bought it used!!!

I own a Gen 3 Glock G22 that has never had a malfunction. It's the only auto pistol I've ever fired extensively that hasn't. The only Glock I can compare this to, however, was a G26, which probably isn't fair. Honestly, I'd say any Gen 3 full-sized model.

For me, the 26, 19, 19C, 17, 20, 20C, 21, 30 and 34 have been wonderful.

No, it was full one day match.

If any gun jammed for ANY reason the stage was stopped and they photoed the gun and noted what kind of stoppage it had. Then at noon, lunch time, everyone would put their guns on a table, the table photoed, and they would leave them there while going to eat. NO CLEANING!

Went on for years in McKinney Texas. The only guns that prevailed year after year were Glock 17s and some Glock 19s. Once a STI 9mm auto cleared the 1000 mark but precious others ever made it to 1000 rounds without any stoppage.
