I like CZs, I like polymer, why not a CZ P-07?

Anyone own a CZ P-07? Have you had any issues in terms of reliability? Are extra mags hard to find? I'm seriously considering getting one.

I have a p01. I have heard nothing but good things about the P07. Love the P01.

If I carried DA/SA, I would carry a P-07. It's right in that rare and perfect* size envelope that makes it equally amazing for concealed carry and service use. The DA pull isn't as smooth as Sig DA often is, but SA is SA, which is typically easy mode. Solid capacity, as well. I consider the P-07 to be the hammer fired Glock 19.

*perfect. Not, "IMO". Perfect. Because science.

I have a P09. The Omega trigger is pretty good for a DA/SA pistol, but can be made better with a kit from CajunGunWorks. This significantly improves the DA stroke. CGW was going to offer a new profile hammer as well but the poly-CZ's haven't caught on so strong yet.

Only major complaint I have about the design is the exposed mainspring in the magwell.

Have you experienced any malfunctions attributable to that main spring design? I wouldn't mind seeing it enclosed, but my P-09 has been flawless with all kids of ammunition.
First question - are you going to carry it concealed? If yes, be aware the last time I had a P-07 the checkering was..."aggressive".
I also have the soon to be orphaned CZ SP-01 Phantom, as it will be dropped from the lineup this year. Dagnabbit - that's a great CZ pistol. It also has the 'exposed" main spring, and I haven't had any issues with it for a few years of dirty reloads.

You can get them from, CZ, CZcustomshop, or Mec-Gar. I believe that the P-01 and P-07 take the same mag.

Thanks for the heads up. I was sure that was going to happen with the release of the P-09. When CZ was running the P-07 and Phantom, I was sure I'd see a compact Phantom before I saw a full size P-07 as the Phantom showed up with fewer problems. I guess I was wrong about that one.

I would wait just a bit. The updated P07 is starting to show up with a P09 hammer and trigger.
The P07 can also be carried Condition 1 if you like. Takes less than 5 min to switch the decocker to the safety.

I've seen newer P-07s with P-09 hammers, but not the trigger yet. A P-07 with a P-09 hammer and trigger would be awesome.

I have a p-07 and it's been great. There was a frame bulge issue with some of the first models but it has been corrected from what I understand.

I have both the p07 and the p09. They have both been flawless with almost 2000 rds. Half of that was cheap ammo. The only problem is finding holsters. Ive been using xd holsters as long as they were not retention. I have 4 cz handguns (2polymer, 2 steel). Really don't like letting the cat out of the bag. CZs are already hard to come by.

I have several plastic pistols ie Glock's, H&K P2000, FN Tact, Springfield Pro CORE, Beretta, and two CZ PO7 Duty. They are at least the equal of any I own. FOR ME they have superior ergo's , accuracy is top notch, the trigger is the best factory trigger available for a plastic pistol, the grip feels like a single stack - yet is high capacity. I only have about 1k rounds through each. But both have been totally reliable. I'm amazed that the internet is not alive with praise for these pistols. They are quite inexpensive too! I rate them a "best buy" and a sleeper. It's not often you find a superior product at a discounted price. Just my opinion and I'm no expert. However, I am a shooter and have had quite a few handguns.

Too true. CZ's were all underpriced at one time and now you cannot find them. The P07 is indeed a great pistol for the money.

CZs have definitely climbed in price. Not too long ago you get a CZ75B "Military" for $349, and then CZ75Bs for $416. Damascus had CZ75Bs for $478 recently and they flew out the door. They sold their stock in less than three days.

Hopefully CZ won't raise the price on the P-07s. They were selling for $439 shipped but who knows what might happen.

You ain't kiddin. I saw a CZ-75 Compact L (basically a P0-1 with a manual safety) at a gun show recently. It was priced at $1100. I know the CZ Custom sells a customized version of that for $850 or so, so I thought, hmmm, who'd buy that?

I came back about 20 min. later and it was gone! Sold.

That's wild - I heard of a Phantom selling on Gunbroker for $1,4,00, IIRC, and I thought that was plain nuts. Then I saw a used one for over $700. Wow.

Maybe someone should do a study of this, but there seem to be some arbitrage opportunities in the gun industry as information appears to be far from perfect. Of course, you can't make serious money, but I am surprised time and time again by people buying guns at highly inflated prices. I guess gun buying is a little bit like rich hausfrau jewelry buying -- lots of impulse-buying.

I am just glad I bought a CZ-75B "Military" years ago at a very low price. Other than the extractor spring wearing out quickly, the guns been a very accurate, reliable shooter. The polymer CZs, though, leave me cold.

I like the metal CZ75 line.

I wanted to like the P07, and had 3 at one time. But the safety just felt really cheap and there was no positive click when put into battery/safety. It just limply moves into position.

The sight paint was really cheap too.

It was accurate and reliable.... but so are lots of other guns.

Overall, I was under-impressed.

I have had a p07 duty. It was the worst in quality among other handguns in my collection. The rear sights were flimsy and were dislocated after few months of wear. The polymer/grip/ everything seems low quality.

I have 2 other CZ products. Both top notch. A Czechmate and CZ76 Auto.

El Godfather, which plastic pistols do you feel have superior quality to the P07? I may be different in some respects than most. For example, I like Glock plastic sights. However, I read of people complaining about them all the time. I've never had a problem with anything Glock through well over 15k rounds through several Models. As I stated, I like the P07 but cannot vouch for their longevity (only have approx. 1k through each P07). Truth is I have more pistols than I know what to do with. Much less time and money to shoot them all now days. The price of ammo has made it very hard to even practice.

I have a P01 and I admit the sights are pretty basic. Small dots. More or less combat sights. I guess ib quality one must ask about jams, reliability, accuracy. Most plastics feel like crap compared to metal. My Shield may be exception.

That seems to be the only thing I don't get about CZs. Their sights always seem mediocre. My 2 75s both now have hiviz sights. Nothing special, but still an improvement over stock. Waiting for the aftermarket to catch up to the P series lineup. The p07 has already changed sights and hammer to its big brother version, the p09. Front and rear sights are steel. The trigger also isn't as curved, and to me feels better than the 07. Mags are still pricey. Still, I love the new P series. DA/SA in the g19 and g17 size? 16+1 and 19+1 rds ? Yup. A little glock grip tape around the smooth sections and they are great shooters.
