When I was a kid, I serious jonesed for one of those for months. But, at 12 years old, I had some time to wait. I doodled it on my homework for goodness sake. I got pretty good at it if I do say so my self.

I never bought the Firestar, but I would in a second if I could find a specimen in like-new shape for a decent price.

Thanks for this review, Arcticap!

I have a M40 and fired it alot never an issue.
A bit heavy for the size but they are great guns.

yeah, they're heavy....I have the M45 and although it's comfortable to shoot it doesn't make for comfortable carry.

I have several Stars (Model B 9mm, 31P .40S&W, Star PD, and the Firestar)....wish they were still available.

Nice video. One nit pick, you mention in the vid that the sights are "not adjustable" that's true for elevation. However, they are drift adjustable for windage. A small tap on the rear sight should bring the point of aim and point of impact closer together.

These were and are well made guns. With a number of innovative features that were quietly imitated by gunsmiths and manufacturers in the U.S. and elsewhere

Yes, you're right about the rear sight being drift adjustable.
The sight is staked with a Torx screw, but a wrench came inside the box to remove it with.
Then the sight can be drifted.

Star Pistols

Had an M40 and 45.

Really liked the 45 - Very accurate little gun.

The extractor broke on the 40 and it was like pulling teeth to get a replacement.

That was when Star was still in business.

When they went under, I unloaded them both as I knew parts would be impossible to get then.;)

Great pistols. I wish I knew who got my Great Uncle's 9mm after he passed. My brother in law purchased a similar 9mm one after shooting The 9mm before he married my sister.

If only parts were available, I'd love to shoot the snot out of every one I see.

You're not playing nice, Valkman. My wife would kill me if another pistol followed me home.
So.... is it for sale? :D
