Went on a shopping spree today.

As some of you know, I've been waiting on a rather large (for me anyways) check from the Army for a couple months now. Well, it went into the bank this morning, so I went out and bought some toys. Of course, I paid off the truck and all of my credit cards first.

For starters, I picked up an 870 Express last Thursday, which I was able to do because I was getting my money today. That shotgun is 28", with 2 3/4" chambers. Cost: $150 + tax and background check.

First stop today, I bought a new Olympic Arms PCR-5 (AR-15) (with 10 round mag, Brit 30 round mag, and hard-case), a used Para-Ordnance C7-45 LDA (with two Wilson Combat mags, video and box), and 500 rounds Silver Bear 5.56mm. Cost: $1485 out the door.

Second stop, I got an 870 Police Magnum with 18" bbl and a Heritage Rough Rider .22LR/.22 MAG single action, 7" bbl, and a speedloader pouch. Cost: $499 out the door.

Third stop was Wal-Mart, where I picked up 450 rounds 2 3/4" 12 ga. #7 1/2 shot and 50 rounds 2 3/4" #6 shot.

I also bought a Beretta 3032 Tomcat with extra mag on Gunbroker for $289 plus shipping and transfer fee.

All in all, it's been a fun day. I can't wait to get to the range later this week.

The spree contiues....

I forgot to add I ordered a Kobra Red Dot with side rail mount for my SAR-1, 6 more 30 round mags for the AR, an Accu-shot monopod for my 700 PSS and a sidesaddle for the 870 Police.

Sometime today, I'll be picking up a new holster for the P-O and probably a case of ammo for the SAR.

That should tide me over for the next week and a half until the gun show hits town.

I was medically retired in OCT 02 for asthma. In JAN 04, the Army decided my asthma had stabilized enough to take me off Temporary Retirement and permanently discharge me. Since I was medically seperated, I was entitled to a severance pay, equal to 2 months base pay (2250 / mo.) per year time in service (8), or 16 months base pay, as an E-5 (over 8). After 25% was taken out for taxes, I pocketed just over $27,000. Yeah baby, yeah!!!

It's not a route I recommend to anybody.

Oh yeah, there's plenty of money left to spend. The wedding's paid for though. (one benefit of wealthy in-laws) You're more than welcome to shoot the P-O. I just have to find time on the weekend to come up. Wedding planning is currently taking up most of my weekends.
