I'm wondering how many here actually purchased any Black Friday deals?

My experience was not-so-good. Stag Arms had some uppers on really sale (1H and 3H models), 20 units each, set to go on sale at 12:01 EST. I was logged on, constantly refreshing my screen, and got a 3H into my cart, shipping address completed, credit card information entered, the whole works.....:Dtried 5 times to hit that final Purchase button....only to get error messages that the site was busy over and over...refreshing....refreshing... and finally after 15 minutes, in my shopping cart a message popped up: "unable to fulfill order because all units sold".:cuss:

I've had less frustrating teases from old high school girlfriends.:p

Was anyone else more successful?

I didn't buy a gun but I did go to Bass Pro Shop for the Nikon AR 223 Scope. I stood in the check line for a good 45 minutes. I was standing by the heavy sock display do they got me for a couple pair.

I picked up a complete upper and complete lower from palmetto at pretty good prices.

I went to bass pro to pick up 22 ammo, their ad said minimum 300 bricks per store, I get their at 5:00 when the sale started and straight up to gun counter. They said sorry all gone, they apparently passed out tickets at some point. I usually don't go BF shopping but this year I thought I'd try, next year think I'll go back to staying home.

i stayed home and slept in and enjoyed my day. that is the only way to win on black friday

Yep, slept until almost ten today, something I very rarely get to do.
Best use of my Black Friday morning. :)

I drove by the mall on the way to lunch. Glad I wasn't in the crowd.

Have you noticed how grocery stores are starting to carry just about everything these days? One of our local stores ran an ad yesterday in the newspaper advertising a 32 inch flat screen TV for I think about $89, but the fine print at the bottom read "2 units per store." Yeah I'll get in line at 4:30 AM for THAT one!

To keep this gun-related, I did mail two rifles I sold last week. The line at the PO was about three people. Nice.

I had plans to do a little firearm window shopping but it took too long to buy the tank, pressure switch, and misc. pieces/parts to move my well output from the old house to my wife's new riding arena.

Probably for the better.

Headed to a gun show on Saturday to browse.

Just picked up 150 rounds of federal xm855 ammo for 70$ seen it, just had to jump on it considering the prices around here.

I don't do black friday. I don't even read the abundant advertising emails from places I do business with. No interest in joining the crowds in stores and no interest in shopping under black friday conditions. I'll keep my money.

I went to Bass Pro at 0810 for the Nikon P223 too. It was sitting at the end of the gun counter on a display. Then I went to the sunglasses counter where no one was waiting, paid and walked out. Home to left over ham and eggs by 8:35

I got to shoot my .357 686 smith and wesson, my colt python, my 1911, an NAA revolver, and my 513T and 52C today while everybody was shopping. Great day.

I went to the office.

While everyone was out doing the shopping deal/sleeping off too much food I got a whole bunch done because there was no one there to bother me. No meetings. It was an awesome, productive day.

Dare I say it, I went to Dick's  at 8pm Thursday night.
I have no problems shopping there, unlike others who have shunned them.

Finished thanksgiving dinner at my dad's at 8pm. Got to Dick's at 815p, straight to the ammo counter. Bought a brick of 22lr ammo 500rds for $19 (limit one) and 100rds of 5.56 for $7/box of 20rds.

Was out of there in about 20mins. That concluded my after-thanksgiving shopping :D

Black Friday gun experience!

I did do some 'Black Friday' shopping and somehow missed the crowds and standing in line? Guess the places I went to sell 'REAL' toys, not IPODS or XBoxes! I couldn't say no to a Bushmaster XM15 with a Red Dot scope and 4 extra mags for under $600! :) I had been wanting an AR-15 eg clone for a long while and did not expect to get a brand new in the box one for anything less than $900 even if I got lucky?!! :neener: Also snagged an Akdal 1919 (AR15 12ga shotgun) for a very, very decent price! :) I see those guns, much like the Saiga 12, going up and up in value! They may even be banned like the USAS-12 was? Nowadays if you want to shake hands with a USAS-12 it will cost you thousands assuming you can even find one? I remember seeing the USAS-12 going for around $700 before Clinton's VP decided they were a destructive device! I was pleasantly surprised by the deals on guns available, given the decidedly negative political atmosphere currently. How long this will be the case is anyone's guess? Get them while you can is my mantra! God I love living in a State which respects the individual's right to bear arms! Happy Shooting! :neener:

@berettaprofessor> Sorry to hear about the negative online experience, must be some serious demand for those uppers? If the price was real decent then I am not surprised! The store I went for my Bushmaster had sold a dozen in only a couple hours, I got one of the last ones remaining, guess I got lucky, especially since I stopped there on a whim, more out of curiosity given the 'Black Friday' phenomenon? However once I seen the low price, I couldn't resist! Hopefully, you have better luck in your future online purchases! Adieu!

I changed out the JHP in my carry gun, after sleeping in until 2PM.
Because I worked until 2 AM, and that in turn because I made time and a half late on Thanksgiving and the only way to get me out of the house on Black Friday is to make Armageddon real and convince me I'm the only person that can work a drill in space.

Nothing to report on. Took my daughter to see a movie and didn't set foot in a store..

I test fired my new Dreyse 1907 pistol and made a chamber cast of an interesting Dreyse sporting rifle I recently picked up. It's some medium-length .44 caliber slightly bottlenecked round that I now need to identify...

Best Black Friday story so far! I test fired my first batch of blackpowder loaded .38 S&W in my Safety Hammerless. I had a lot of fun with it.

I saved 10% on the parts for the AR I've always wanted to build at Brownell's. Only thing I had to go elsewhere for was the BCG I wanted. Saved 15% there. I figured I would lump it all together under the same sale and be done with it. Except for the crying that is!
