Recommend a cc pistol...

Ok guys, I am in the market for a new concealed carry pistol. What are your recommendations? I like the M&P full size but I am not sold on the Shield yet for some reason. I do love SIGs but they are pricey. I already have a P220 and P226. Looking for something a little different. Must be an autoloader. Not really into revolvers much.
 
Um... Do you want a full size, or sub compact, or something in between? I would look at a Walther P99, DA/SA best pistol I've shot, and I've shot a Sig 226 and liked it. Also like the M&P. Dare I say a G***k 19.
 
About a year ago, I traded for a SIG 250SC 9MM. NIB.Took it to the range and shot it. I have put my 1911 back in safe and carry it totally. Have had no burps or problems. Best I can remember, I'm in it and a leather IWB for less than $350. Wouldn't trade it.

If you like the M&P full size, have you considered the M&P Compact which would let you use full size mag with the Xgrip extensions? I carry an M&P 40c and I like it very well. The SIG 250 is nice too.

What do you consider a good size for concealment? The P220 and P226 could work out just fine for carry with the right holster, belt and shirt. However, if those are too large, does a Glock 26/27/33 work for you?

You may say "Glock" as opposed to "GLOCK".

Normal proper noun-name capitalization rules apply and no need to shout on the internet.

I can't say enough about the sig 239....pricey as it may be. It really conceals nicely. Another option may be a CZ 75 D Compact (PCR). One if my best shooting pistols at a reasonable price point ($500-$550). The only reason I don't carry it is because that 239 still carries better on me.
 
The P250 is a nice gun, great grip, but the trigger is really heavy being DAO, I have eventually resorted to the G19 as primary carry. Nice to shoot on the range, large enough grip I no pinky pieces require. And the price and availability of extra mags, and custom parts let your really make it your own.

I gotcha, Hometeached1! Seems lots of people like to jump on the Glock bandwagon, one way or the other. It seems to be a love it or hate it gun with little middle ground and it's funny to watch!

I didn't realize this until someone else pointed it out to me how many times "Glock" is posted in all caps as compared to other proper names for guns. I made that posting in homage to him. Pretty funny, actually, when you think about it.

I agree with you, sometimes it's so fun to watch, then other times it's so annoying. I'm in that small group of people who like and own glocks, yet could live without them.
 
Your question has a lot of answers. Size? IWB or OWB carry? Caliber? Single or double stack? SA, DAO, SA/DA or hybrid? Aversion to polymer? Be a little more specific to your preferences, the responses will be more accurate.
 
I've tried a bunch, but the winner is my Kahr CW9. Perfect size, thin, light, 100% reliable, not expensive. A good belt and holster is just as important, and provide all the comfort.

Got to agree with JDGray: a Kahr 9mm. is great way to go in terms of a CCW. Pocket carry small, along with great ergonomics and a smooth and easy to use DA trigger, make for a very compact and powerful pistol.
 
Since you like SIGs, have you considered the SP2022 for a lighter & less costly alternative? The SP2022 is my EDC.

Taurus 709 Slim? (this one is one of the models Taurus seems to have done well, and also available in .40, as the 740.)

Bersa BP9cc?
 
Here's my standard advice.
Step One: Learn what handgun fit is.
Two: Find a bunch of guns that fit.
Three: Select the one that feels best in your hands.
Four: The end goal is to carry the physically largest handgun you can conceal in the largest caliber you can manage. There are reasons, but I'm in a hurry.
 
I've had an SR9c for going on three years now and find it accurate, reliable and easy to cc. I've lost count of the rounds I put through it but it eats anything I can find.

I rented the M&P 45c at the range when I requalified for my CHCL. It was a good shooting and comfortable gun. I didn't carry it, but it felt like it would carry well. I would not have a problem with it being my carry weapon.
