Need a recommendation for a Small, flat 9mm for dalily carry.

My suggestion would be to get a Makarov 9 X 18. They are very similar in size & weight to the LC9, they shoot well and are very dependable.

I don't doubt the dependable part, but they are far from the same weight.

LC9= 17 ounces

Mak= 26 ounces

That's a pretty hefty difference that would effect someone carrying either.

Taurus 709 slim. Name says it all. IWB Remora at 4:30 can be tucked into your belt in a few seconds. It doesn't print even under light clothing, and it is very comfortable to carry.

to the OP.. i like the taurus 709slim and the keltec pf-9 for 9mm daily carry (can even carry in shorts or cargo pocket...

very slim, easy to operate and control under fire and can be had for cheap, yet they are very reliable.

Easy choice, for the price the Kahr CM9 or CM40 is the ticket.

I've had a CM9 and it shot great but replaced it with a CM40 because I have more .40 ammo. I've owned a Walther PPS and shot a S&W Shield and my friends XDs. But I'll say it again, for a good quality gun, you can't beat the CM series in the Kahr lineup for price.

Another vote for the Shield. I think it has the best trigger of the single stack polymer carry pistols. It shoots really well for a small gun, with recoil being very manageable.

Another recommendation to look at the Kahr CM9. I alternate carry with a Ruger KLCR .357mag, however the Kahr conceals a little better. Loaded with Speer GD 124gr+P 9mm, and extra mag, feel comfortable anytime. Lightweight, super (albeit longer-safety here folks!) trigger, highly concealable, accurate (even at longer distances/& point shooting), and a fairly priced version of the Classic PM9. Another two, Sig P938, and the Taurus PT709/740 Slim. Good luck!

I 2nd the Kahr PM9 recommendation.

Don't think there is much smaller and still quality.

Have been VERY happy with mine.

Had to purchase a 2nd when my wife took mine; haven't seen it since. Needless to say she likes it as well.

I have the following in the order of decreasing size:
1. Kahr T9
2. Kahr K9
3. Kahr MK9
4. KelTec PF9
5. Rohrbaugh R9

My thoughts with respect to size:
T9: Flat but probably too big for a lot of people given all the alternatives.
K9: Flat and a little smaller.
MK9; Flat and smaller yet.
PF9: Not all that much smaller dimensionally than the K9, more or less about the size of the MK9, but definitely lighter than either.
R9: Definitely the smallest. Weight perceived as more or less equal to the PF9.

Other thoughts:
T9: I really like this gun but it’s large enough that I haven’t attempted to carry it given my experience with the K9.
K9: I have a Milt Sparks VMII that this gun carries very comfortably in.
However the butt end of the grip prints a little more than I’m comfortable with even though I’d bet nobody else notices.
MK9: I carry this in the same VMII as the K9 and this is about perfect for me IWB. I forget I have it on.
PF9: I don’t have a problem with the PF9.
It has been reliable and although the trigger suffers when compared to the Kahr’s or the Rohrbaugh I could learn to live with it.
I just haven’t given the all the alternatives.
I tried the PF9 briefly with pocket carry and it was just a bit too large for me.
If I carried it I would probably IWB.
R9: This gun is so small that I felt kind of dumb carrying it IWB.
That was an experiment and I learned that when IWB there was not a significant diff between it and the MK9 in perceived physical feedback.
However I do pocket carry the R9 in a “Sticky” front pocket holster.
I tried the MK9 in pocket carry and it was just a bit too large for me.

I also have a Browning Hi Power but it’s large enough that I’ve never carried it.
(Ok, queue up all the people that carry 1911’s (or larger) every day and don’t have a problem. Good, I’m happy for you.)

Bottom line:
I chose to carry the MK9 IWB and/or the R9 in right front pocket. That’s what works for me.
However I’ve learned that people are so individual in their experiences and expectations.
All we can do is give some general feedback and let them make their own decisions.

Good luck!

Kahr MK9
Caliber: 9mm
Barrel: 3.0 in
Length: 5.3 in
Height: 4.0 in
Slide Width: .90 in
Width at slide stop: 1.0 in
Weight: Pistol 22.1 oz, Magazine 1.9 oz
Capacity: 6+1

Rohrbaugh R9
Caliber: 9mm
Barrel: 2.9 in
Length: 5.2 in
Height: 3.7 in
Slide Width: .82 in
Width at thickest part of pistol: .95 in
Weight: 13.5 oz, magazine 1.6 oz
Capacity: 6+1 Rounds

Kahr only lists the width of the slide, which they list at .90"

The slide width on the Rohrbaugh is .82" I'm only listing it here because Kahr lists it for the MK9/PM9/CM9.

The Kahr PM9/CM9 and MK9 have slide stop levers which takes the width of the pistol out to 1"

There is no slide stop or magazine release on the R9 to add to the overall thickness of the pistol. However, the Rohrbaugh does get a little thicker, it is widest right at the base of the grip by the magazine well, where it is .95" across.

I got these measurements by taking my digital caliber to the R9 and taking measurements at different points trying to find the maximum thickness.

I will say you have to decide what's best for you . Also IF your not going to pocket carry don't waist the time on the cm9 and smaller 9mm's and look more toward the cw9, slim and shield sized pistol or a bit larger. handle them and buy what you think fits your budget and needs best. I have pocketed a snubby a pf9 and now a kahr cm9. I use to iwb a cw9 but lately have bumped up to a tp40 as my main iwb , owb carry pistol.

The 3913 and 3914 are a little older, but it is amazing how compact and thin they really are next to today's thinner guns. Only the safety makes them wider than some, and that is just in one area of the gun. However, if you lean towards the DA/SA auto, they provide the option that many of the others do not.

I would recommend a Kahr.

I have a 1st. Gen. Kahr TP-9 that I just love to carry due to its' light weight, low maintenance, thin profile and a breeze to shoot even with 147gr +P. When I casually carry, I just stick it in the waistband of my jeans or when I dress up, in a paddle holster which both ways are comfortable.

For that matter you could look at the HK P7

IIRC, at one time it was the smallest 9mm production 9mm on the market.

It is still fairly compact at 6.7" long by 5.1" tall and only 1.1" wide. But I can tell you from my own experience that it is pretty heavy, about 28 ounces empty.

Is that a Gerber 200?

The little Gerber 200 has been the most useful knife I've ever owned, mainly because it is so handy - always on my keychain.

Here is a picture of my Gerber 200 sitting next to my Rohrbaugh R9:
