Has anyone written a letter since the CT registration ordeal...?

After just waiting 2 hours in the cold at state police HQ to turn in my papers, you can bet I will!

You know, that's an excellent idea. Been getting lulled into complacency, and you can be sure the antis aren't.

Just out of curiosity, how would the State of CT know whether a resident registered their firearm or mag? Did CT already have some kind of database?

Yes. All firearms sold at retail stores had state paperwork filled out. The state got a copy and the police chief in the buyers town got a copy.

Selling a long gun privately does not require paperwork until 4/1 and after that there is no legal way to sell or buy a gun without reporting it to the state.


The scary part is that the CT database is terribly inaccurate. Many people have requested copies of the list of firearms the state says they own and have guns listed in their name that they have never owned or even seen in their lives. So some people may have police demanding to know why they failed to register a gun they never owned.

That right there should render that law unenforceable!

Exactly what I have posted on my Face Book Page, to write the CT Governor and all the legislators who have voted to pass the law. There was a post identifying all the legislators who voted for the bill with address and contact phone numbers. We could flood their offices with letters and phone calls objecting to their unconstitutional law suggesting they reconsider what it might mean to this country.
