I don't know if you need one for a Ruger barrel swap but a torque wrench is a very handy tool for home gunsmithing. I've fixed a lot of problems just by properly torqueing fastners.

Might as well as you dropped the coin for a kidd barrel. You can use it to properly tighten scope rings, stocks, etc. too. Remember those are INCH Pounds not ft.lbs! No need to demonstrate how soft aluminum receivers can be.

Well I didn't go that crazy haha just a green mountain barrel. But is there any certain method? Like use the Allen wrench vertical and use the small end so I don't get to much leverage?

Also is blue loctite bad? I like to loctite things my scope rail was coming loose every 20 shots until I loktited that

I did not use a torque wrench when I put my green mountain bull barrel on. I took second place in a 100 yard bench rest competition with mine against 13 centerfire rifles. The other participants were pretty upset that I took second place with a 10/22. I also have a Kidd 2-stage trigger on mine.

Auto parts stores will have ratchets in inch pounds. Mine was 109$ for
PHP:
a 3/8 drive torque ratchet.if u do much car repair, ull find urself needing one for alot of stuff anyway especially tranny rebuilds

Harbor Freight has cheap torque wrenches that are more than enough for what you need. For gun work you need one for Ft/Lbs and one for In/Lbs
