lobo9er I am with you on that thought.
If anybody has lost their deer gun while field dressing they can see why orange stocks are a good idea in the field.
I have also been looking for a good field dressing knife with a blaze orange handle as well.
Lost both more than once, found them eventually but orange makes that chore much easier...

Just about all my field gear gets some orange duck tape or orange parachord. Lost and found a little trusty husky flash light this year because it had some orange tape. Also check out the Mora companion knife in orange, might fit your bill.

Sog makes one too that looks pretty cool unfortunately the s30v version doesn't come in orange only the Aus8.

Segue, but the Mora knife shown above is what we use for our diving knives for deep technical wreck diving. I buy them by the gallon bucket (literally) from a commercial fishing supply place for about $10/each. Highly recommended.

And where might that be? I love mora knives and I teach a survival class to Young Marines, the youth organization not real marines. They are always losing my Moras. Would love to get some orange ones at a good price. PM me if you want.

I've got a set of neon/blaze orange G-10 handle blanks taped to a tapered-tang Valkman landshark blade that needs to be shaped and assembled one of these days.

It should look pretty darned eye-catching! ... one of these months...years...whatever.

Case makes several patterns with yellow Delrin slabs/ scales, the idea being to be able to spot a dropped or otherwise misplaced knife.

For folks looking for a good price on the Moras, you can get them branded as the BAHCO 1244 for $12.32 each on Amazon, and they ship free if you have a prime account (or buy them at least three at a time to hit the $35 minimum for free ground shipping without prime). I use Amazon Smile so the NRA civil defense fund gets a donation on stuff I'd buy anyway.

Also, according to the Amazon product page they get them from Snap On tools. A little google fu shows me that checking with an auto parts wholesaler might be a good idea. I've never bought from Auto Tool World, but they have these BAHCO Moras in a case of 15 knives for $101 [strike](plus shipping I assume). Even if the shipping is high that's still dirt cheap for the already thrifty Mora.[/strike] I just went through the checkout process but didn't order: They showed shipping from their warehouse in Ohio to me in GA at just under $9. $110 ($7.33 each) shipped for 15 Moras. :what:

Colored tape and colored lanyards go a long way towards making any knife more visible.

On a similar note, I've always thought black was the absolute worst color for a flashlight. I continually astounds me that it seems to be the most popular color.

First thing that pops to my mind is Svord. All of Svord's Kiwi line comes in orange.

Industrial Marine Marketing in Wakefield RI. It's an old time commercial fishermans supply house. Dunno about regular mail orders but give them a call and tell them that the Captain of the dive boat EXPLORER sent ya...

I use these for everything and consider them to be disposable. The steel is soft, so it's easy to sharpen but does not hold an edge terribly well. With that said, when I serve steak at home and put them out as steak knives, nobody goes hungry... ;-)

The Mora knives aren't particularly soft. The reason they don't hold an edge is because the apex angle is about 25 degrees inclusive. This is a great edge geometry for detail carving in hard woods, shaving, or home surgery. But not much else.

I need to repair the folded edge on my Mora 120 every now and then while carving, but it's worth the effort in really hard woods. I don't use that knife for anything else.

Consider that most kitchen knives are sharpened to maybe 14-18 degrees per side (28-36 inclusive), typically, and general use knives at 17-20 degrees (34-40 inclusive), and there's the reason. There's nothing wrong with Mora knife steel or temper.

Put a 35 degree microbevel on those Mora knives, and they'll be cutting for a long, long time. Well, not that any edge will last long cutting steaks on porcelain dishware. :)

The Auto Tool Parts deal looked too good to pass up. I ordered a case 15 orange Mora/Bahco "Carpenter's Knives". Total with shipping was $109.88.

Teaching survival class in a couple weeks so these will come in handy.

Thank you ugaarguy for doing the footwork on these :D

An orange paint pen and some orange para cord makes everything a bit easier to find. I did that to all my Moras after gutting a deer in a swamp in the dark one year and setting it down. Didn't find it until I came back a couple weeks later with a metal detector. Now everything I take out into the woods gets a dab of paint, a piece or orange or neon green paracord or both.
