Hello Everyone.
First off, I am a huge fan of the discussion boards here and I wanted to thank everyone for all of the great input I have gathered here over the last few years. I have lurking around THR for some time but I have never had anything I felt like sharing... until today.
Today I met my dad and step mom for lunch because it was her birthday. We had a great time and went back to my house to catch up after we finished eating. It was then that my dad surprised me with an early 30th birthday gift (its not until next week). When I opened it I was SHOCKED to find a NIB Mossberg Silver Reserve II!!
I bought a Mossberg 500 about 8 years ago when I started to get into Trap and Sporting clays. My dad was never a "gun guy" growing up so I got a late start with my love of shooting sports. Once I picked up the new hobby he went with me a few times and loved it. Shortly after he bought himself an over-under and shoots regularly. Sporting Clays is something that we do together but I was always the guy at the club using the cheaper pump gun surrounded by very nice (and expensive) autos and over-unders. I never minded because I like shooting doubles with a pump and could always hold my own with the other shooters. I also always secretly got a kick out of out shooting guys with guns X5 the cost of mine

Long story short, I thought that this gift was really special because shooting has become a way that my father and I bond and I never expected such a nice gift like this. I can't wait to take my dad out and give this thing a whirl!
