So I was out looking around yesterday and came across a Ruger AR 10 that seemed like a good price.
Has any one had any experience with rugers?

Ruger SR 762

I picked up a Ruger SR 762 just over a week ago. I have several other AR's including a Ruger SR 556 but this is my first .308 AR platform.

Got it on the range last week for sight in (irons only) and function testing. I must say I really like it. Much softer shooting than my .308 VEPR II. It ran 100% with the three different mil-surplus ammos I had on hand (SAmerican, SAsia & UK) and shows great promise in the accuracy department.

A 45+ round 50 yard group, consisting of all 3 ammo types, was easily covered by a 50 cent piece. Not bad, considering this was with open sights, 62 YO eyes, mixed junk ammo and with no real effort made for accurate shooting. (Was just really shooting for function testing.) I've added a Leupold 1.5X5 and Harris bi-pod this week and hope to get it out later today if the weather holds.

I'm considering an AR style 308, and am efinitely interested
In this one.

JAC,
Hopefully you can let us know how it performs at longer distances now that you've got an optic on. I'm certainly curious, especially with the performance you got with the open sights.

I looked at the ruger 762. It is very nice. Ive owned various ar10 style rifles, Springfield m1a, Vepr, Saiga etc. My current go-to is the MP 10 which I like as good as any. Its upper and lower seem less bulky than a normal ar10 and the light 18" barrel is great. A given is that the trigger needs to come out, and better unit put in. But I hold the MP10 in high regard. Box stock, if you are going for a 16" barrel the Ruger is very nice. If it had an 18" barrel I would like it more.

I concur.

I will say the SR762 is one of the best-looking AR-10s I've ever seen.

I am sure that they are nice rifles but at an MRSP of $2195.00, are they made of gold?
You can definitely get them for less than MSRP.

Love mine.

Trigger had to be changed; for my taste.

Otherwise great AR in an excellent chambering. Good all-round gun IMHO

I love Rugers, got lots of em. got some Armalite AR10s, couple Bushmaster BAR10s, but to me the Ruger .308 platform is overpriced....I wont be buying one.
