Anyone used one? Really been wanting a ar10 and am studying this one a little.

I like that it has a thin barrel for portability but am really curious on the accuracy I should expect.

I really love 308 for hunting and would love the option of te smith and it would give me a good excuse to buy a suppressor for deer hunting (they just legalized them in tx last year)

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Esp from folks who either have one or have used one!

I have one and it is a great rifle. I bought it for hunting but wasn't able to use it this year. The accuracy on mine is very good. Mine is much more accurate with 168gr ammo. I haven't been able to shoot it as much as I would like but do have approx 250-300 rounds through. No issue with it at all.

It's an excellent rifle-1 of the lightest AR10 types available, VERY ACCURATE, easy to customize, IMO it's as good as any AR10 type rifle out there regardless of price-can't think of a single disadvantage
It's become 1 of my favorite rifles (granted, I did make the up grades I wanted, but it is SWEET!)

I like mine as it is admirably light for a 308 AR. I just wish it had a regular front sight rather than the railed gas block. Oh, and the mil grade trigger pull sucks, but I put a Wilson TTU in mine.

I found mine to be surprisingly accurate with my 168 grain SMK hand loads. I didn't expect too much from the light profile barrel, but it appears to shoot 5-shot groups pretty well. I haven't tried longer strings for groups.

Mine didn't reliably cycle 7.62 ammo when it was new, it short stroked... evidently not enough pressure to operate the gun. I haven't tried 7.62 lately, but it eats my hand loads and most (if not all) commercial 308 I have tried just fine.

Ive had numerous semi 308 rifles and the MP10 is top notch. Id recommend a trigger swap and a ctr stock. The handguards have no heat shield and are not floating, but they are very light and practical accuracy is still more than adequate with them.

I really like my M&P 10, I've put wwb, Tula steel cased, and four different handloads through it with nary a bobble. Of the first four loads I've tried (only two different bullets and one powder), the best was around 1.5 in for five shots, but I haven't really done any development yet. Mine is set up about like Mistwolf's except my furniture is black, and I have a Zeiss Conquest on top. The only things I really plan on doing to my rifle are putting an SWFA SS 10x42 on top, and swapping the trigger.

I went with the Sig 716 patrol and didn't have to change a thing or spend a dime on upgrades. It is heavier though, it's built like a tank.

It's all about what you want, I wanted a lighter rifle for hunting, and didn't need rails, etc. So for me it was a better choice to save the $500 difference between the Sig and the M&P. I can buy a really nice trigger and still be ahead for my uses. Also, it doesn't get mentioned much, but the nitrocarburized barrel on the M&P is a nice feature, and in the eyes of many, an upgrade over chrome lined barrels.

FWIW I dropped in a cmmg 2 stage in mine it works well. Also the only ammo mine wont cycle so far has been magtech m80. Other surplus, commercial, and reloads have all worked. Mine is also capable of close to moa accuracy. Sub 2moa for sure.
