I'm tired of losing knives.

I like knives.

They are very useful.

I'm tired of dumping $8-10 on knives because they always flap out in vehicles, or more commonly, the forest. I had a really good spdy endura last year that met the same fate. Thats why I can't spend on knives anymore.

I'm tired of beltclips that dont clip.

I'm tired of pocketgrabbers that seem more like hangliders.

Help !

I'm not dumping any more on knives that wont stick on my hip.

I do wear a belt.

Let the recommendations roll, plz.

I want this one to stay put- $10, or $100- thats the only requirement.

I've been carrying a Kershaw Blur for the last several years and can't find anything I don't like about it.

It may be a little more than you want to spend, but several of the Benchmade folders come with pouches you can wear on your belt. I can't think of any other brands with quality knives off the top of my head, but I'm sure there are others that offer something like that.

I've considered it myself, as I'm brutal on pocket clips. The Kershaw Blur, as sniper pointed out, seems to have a rugged clip. I've hung mine up on things a couple times, but I've always been able to straighten it. It's a little sharp, so it can grab upholstery if you carry it in your back pocket.

Sounds like the problem isn't the clips/knives themselves if an Endura.

Put a knife pouch on your belt and put your knife in it and the problem of them being lost might be reduced to just when they get laid down and forgotten.

BTW, the clips are for pockets and not belts (although some folks carry a knife IWB that way [although, if you're going to carry IWB you could carry with the knife inside the waistband and the clip on the waistband behind the belt]).

The old all stainless Spyderco Byrd line of knives had stout clips while the FRN didn't. Hopefully the second generation of all stainless kept the same clips. They're about $30.

Another Kershaw Blur owner, I've seen pouches for the belt on eBay for the Blur. If you want to wear it on the belt, keep it protected and not lose it. Other then that, I've never had an issue with it coming out of my pocket.

Hard knife to beat for about $40-50 depending on where you buy it, check Amazon or eBay.

If you want a cheap knife because you misplace them like I do, go down to your local harbor freight, the pocket knife costs 6 dollars, 4 if it's on sale. It is a very stout knife. I had one that had a sticky liner lock, but I've never had a liner lock fail on me. The clip is very secure.

Or do as others have said and get a knife with a pouch. A buck 110 or something.

Or get a sheath knife instead of a folder.

I edc a crkt minimalist which is an amazing little fixed blade and runs $20, I also usually carry a crkt m16 in my pocket and it has a great clip

I had a Spyderco Byrd Cara Cara II with G10 and that clip was strong. It wore out a few pairs of jean pocket tops just by pulling it out of the pocket. A great knife for $25. If it wasn't stolen it would still be hanging on my pocket. Now I carry a small Kershaw Scallion and that clip is very tight too.

That ain't a bad suggestion. You could get a little fixed blade and put the sheath on your key ring.

I wear my knife clipped to the inside of my right front pocket.I don't know how you carry yours.I've been using an Ontario Rat II for the past year it has a very well designed pocket clip fit tight, slides on the pocket easily but the clip doesn't catch and get bent like I've had other clips do

EDC knife

I have carried a Benchmade Emerson slec war model cqc7 for the last 10 years or so. The clip is indeed sturdy. I also carry a Kershaw Blur on occasion. Both knives are workhorses.

what about a sog autoclip? they're about 20 bucks and have a self tensioning clip. the old ones had a thumb wheel you could adjust the tension with. I don't know about the new ones.

I have folding and fixed versions of the Gerber Gator, neither of which was expensive. The sheaths are nothing fancy, just plain ol' nylon, but built well enough to endure most use. As far as the clips on folding knives, I use them strictly for attaching to my waistband or pocket, not a belt.

If you don't like the suggestions, buy any knife you like and have a sheath made. I used to use Lifter's Leather for my sheath needs (when I was making knives) and he made the absolute best sheaths I've seen.

Get a Kydex sheath made, with a metal clip.

Put a Mora Companion in it.

What's wrong with the sheath that comes with the Companion? I haven't had mine all that long but it seems pretty secure to me.

Thanks for all of the suggestions everyone !

*investigates*

Now to put some of these options in my hand and pocket, and go from there.

A Nite EYZ pouch will hold your knives. Also I would recommend CRKT KNIVES. They are built to last & have models that will stay where you put it! Good strong clips & they can be had at very good prices on sale! Just picked up a CRKT CASPER KRAWFORD, MSRP. $64.00 on sale for $19.99 ! Check them out & I think you will find just what you want!
