My first was an old Mauser chambered for 308 NATO. The gun store owner said it was Israeli. The receiver crest was worn so bad I couldn't identify the country of origin.

First gun I owned was the first gun I bought, Winchester 1300. Practise ammo is cheap, it's extremely versatile, and it's fairly lightweight compared to a rifle. That being said, the first gun I ever shot was a Marlin semi-auto 22lr, I think it was a model 99, had the squirrel engraved on the grip.

20 gauge single shot. Can't even remember what make. Pawn shop special when I was 12, but man was I proud of it

My first gun was a 12 ga Mossberg 500 combo with 28" vented rib and 24" rifled slug barrels. I bought it when I was 14 with money from my paper route.

12ga Mossberg. I needed something quick for home defense (wife's ex was apparently coming to town looking for trouble) and Dick's didn't sell handguns.

The first guns I ever shot as a kid were a little .22 "pump action gallery gun" my dad bought used. A couple of years later, he taught me how to shoot his M1 Garand he used in the Natl. Guard.
The first gun I owned was a Marlin Golden 39A .22 levergun. What was nice about that was that you could mix Shorts, Longs, & LR with up to 30 rounds. A few years later, I got a Ruger .22LR pistol, those ubiquitous round semis. Traded it a few years later for a .380, which I still have and is now over 40 years old.
Since then, no gun I have purchased has left my possession. :D

My first gun was a 12ga Wingmaster. I saved up a year or so for it. I was 12 when I got it.

First handgun was a Ruger RST-6. I was 14.

First handgun I was able to buy without my Dad's permission was a S&W .357 Highway Patrolman, 6" barrel.

First rifle was a used Mark X sporter in 22-250.

First firearm? .22LR (rifle; voted in the poll as such.)

First shotgun? gauge 20.

First handgun? .357 Magnum (learned quickly it should have been .22LR!)

1st gun/caliber that was "mine" was a Ruger 10/22.

1st gun/caliber that "I" bought BHP 9mm

Never sold either.

My first gun was a .357Mag revolver. I would have done better to start with a .22 handgun.

Winchester 70 Classic Sporter LT in 30-06 was the first gun that was "mine" that I shot. However, my father bought my brother and I consecutive serial numbered, unfired, TPD commemorative S&W 66's before we were born.
