I really want a 527 Carbine in .223 to replace the one I lost. Trouble is I just can't fine one locally. I can't really find one online for that matter, so a I'm looking at maybe trying the 527 Lux but while I have found a place that can get me one of those, it's not in stock for me to handle.

Anyone have both that can weigh in? I just want a handy rifle for off hand, iron sights shooting. Does the Lux come off as significantly bigger or heavier than the carbine in hand? Are the sights good?

I own a 527 FS same stock as the LUX it is in 22 hornet very accurate and comfortable stock. You will like the CZ rifles. If there were something I don't like it would be the magazine.

Good luck and shoot straight

Sounds like you want the x39 carbine, like mine.

One caveat, it has light primers strikes. I've found a video showing how to alleviate the issue but haven't had a chance to try it.

Regardless it's one of my favorites, especially when loaded light. Very quick and natural pointer.

Chris, if you'd be so kind, may we have a link to that video?

I'm aware of some light-primer-strike issues, but the more info the better.

Thanks in advance.

Exactly, just about the perfect off hand rifle. The Lux doesn't seem much bigger, wondering if it has the same feel. Might just get one of each.

Personally, I plan to get the X39 Carbine as a deer rifle for here in PA and the 223 Lux as a fun plinker. The barrel length of the Lux will make much better use of the 223's potential.
