Mine came in last Monday the 3rd. (Instructor - applied Dec 20)

Wasn't sure I'd live to see it, but there it is!

As someone who lived in IL for 56 years, that brings a tear to my eyes. Their laws was a major consideration in my moving to CT. Now CT's new laws are allowing me to choose another state to live. Looking at PA right now but who knows where I'll end up. IL is not back on my list although it has come a long way in the last few years.

Re: "The Walk"..... I think that's a referral to the unofficial tradition of taking your new permit, strapping on your pistol, and going to WalMart and walking around while armed! I think everyone does that, some munch on popcorn too.

I've been carrying everywhere for 8 days now (instructor). Haven't done walmart but I've done Menards.. Tractor supply.. Big R... went out for dinner .. couple gas station trips..

So far the only negative thing I've had happen is a bit of butt-chafing. Seems that the IWB rig pushes my cheeks together more than normal.

I went to Chicago 3 times a week for over 4 years and I have to say I am excited for you guys. CCW and statewide preemption at the same time is HUGE! Now if only we had reciprocity!

You'll get used to EDC. You'll try different rigs, guns, what not. Sooner or later you'll find carrying is like wearing shoes. You don't go around thinking, "OMG I'm wearing shoes!"

Congrats to all in IL who can exercise another bit of their Constitutional rights. As a 38 year resident who moved from IL to WI 20 years ago, I can't say I thought it would ever happen. Going on 3 years with CCW here in WI now, so I do remember the feeling of Liberty and responsibility when I first started CCW here. (Yes, I did the "walk" }

Now, If IL would only allow reciprocity for their neighbors to the North, it would make my travels a little less complicated!

Oh, and if they would also allow automatic weapons and suppressors.............wait, that would be asking too much, wouldn't it, since "they" didn't allow anything; they were forced into it.
