What's the most exotic ammo you have ever shot?

Once a long long time a go I shot 22 short, long & long rifle all on the same day, life has been down hill ever since!

1960's 357 magnum Winchester western AP rounds. Dad got a box of them from a old widow whose Husband had been a Highway patrol man. I also shot some Super vel 357 ammo.

I reload for both .32 French Longue (7.65 French), and 7.5x54 French. Yes, I shoot them both. Not very exotic, but you sure don't see them much.

40mm tear-gas cannister, 40mm parachute flare;
.30-.378wbymag; had muzzle brake, sighted in for temporary owner, he sold it back to shop he bought it from, less 40rds (cost him almost $200 for two boxes of factory ammo).
50rds.380 from Mac11 w/silencer circa 1973; owned by class III dealer aquaintance
.500 S&W from factory prototype revolver. (tool shop gun built by Tom Gordon;chief armorer).
full auto M14 w/tracers (at night!)
Ruger AC-5.56 (full auto version of Mini-14, circa 1980).
AAC Rem. M700 .300BLK w/silencer w/Burris "Eliminator" laser/traj. comp. sight. (sighted in and regulated it to hit POI/POA to ~150yds with 208 A-max ammo.... a chore, actually.
and a few more that don't come to mind.

Most Exotic Ammo I've Ever Shot ?

Right now, for me, the best I can remember.....toss up between 7.7 Jap Arisaka and .32 Rim Fire from old Stevens lever action single shot.

But, these two have been mentioned already.

Oh, I forgot .32 Colt Long in Colt New Pocket Model. When did you last see that ammo ? The .32 Colt Short is still out there, but Long is a special order deal.

I was thinking there was another one. Ummm.......Was there one called .22 Rim Fire ?

A 60mm, 81mm, 155mm and the 50 cal round Russia uses. I suppose the first three aren't really "shot" but they left a barrel.

I was asked to replicate some anticolateral damage rounds in .308 I was given a few that were magically made some place. They sure did work on musk melon and squash.

Original 1930's 38/44HS, 1940's 38 special, 1940's 38 Super, 1950's 38/44 ammo.

All were run over a chrono and documented. That older ammo was impressive.

No, I was a rogue 11B grunt who spent 3 years in a Washington Army National Guard Armor Company.

I never made it to TC3 school and never got the 19K MOS.

The CO wouldn't let me name my tank "Dragon Bait".

I did appreciate the term for dismounted troops: "crunchies"

TOW missile or the main gun of an M1 Abrams.

No exotic rounds. As for cartridges, the most exotic I've shot is the .327 Fed Mag and .32 S&W short.

455 Webley ,WWI ammo. Still have a few boxes.

357 Herrett, fun to load, cases fire formed.

7.62x39 subsonic armor piercing, from a suppressed select fire AK.
Loudest sound was action operating; round penetrated 1/4 mild steel plate at 100 yds.

Other than that, 300 grains at about 2000 fps from my .500 S&W.

"Dragon" Anti-Tank Missile and a few other assorted goodies...

All three automag calibers .357 .41 and.44, in the same day.

That's ok, I wasn't an 11c, but they let me drop a few rounds out at Graf.

Back in the mid '70'sI tried some 110gr 357mag super vel ammo on south florida swamp deer , not real good idea.
I ordered some PMC Eldorado Barnes X 7mm rm ammo direct after reading about it a magazine and killed a elk and mule deer with it and copper a barrel so bad it took a soaking it in kroil oil and lots of scubing to get it clean. Still have 2 box's of it.

Killed a couple deer some 23 years ago with a norma 308 ammo in a yellow box that had a little yellow round plastic bead at the tip of a very expansive 180gr bullet bullet. great deer slayer. Stopped making that ammo or atleast importing it back then.
