Now that it's getting warmer, I've decided I better get into better shape and am starting with walking and carefully transitioning to maybe a jog in the mornings. But my forty-year-old knees and ankles are feeling it, so maybe I'll be forever stuck a power walker...YIKES!

At any rate, I will usually have the flashlight and sometimes my Kershaw Blur in a jacket pocket but here's the belt I'll cinch on over my pants/sweats (concealed, of course).

What does everyone else use, besides the typical fanny pack with a snubbie combo?

Scott

Well, I sure would't use that running!!!!

I usually have J-Frame Smith, or a Kel-Tec P3AT, or a SIG P-232 in my hip pocket when walking.

I can't do running anymore.

But if I could, it wouldn't be with a 1911 in a gun belt cinched down tight enough to keep it from beating my rib bones black & blue every bound!

If I just had to carry a 1911 running?
It would be in a Milt Sparks Summer Special inside my pants.
Not outside over them on a separate gun belt with all the bells & whistles.

Interesting, that looks like a lot of hardware for jogging.

I'll admit to have given up running due to knee and ankle injuries in sports. However, I do take a spin on a bicycle to replace running. Since I'm not a "serious" sports cyclist I get by with a pocket auto in .32 ACP.

I use a spibelt when I run. It's perfect for my lcp in a cheap uncle mikes holster. It certainly isn't a quick draw but it can be done with some practice.

Google the spi belts. Just great for running.

Well, I only have a 1992 P226 and a Mini-14...so, those options aren't much better. I plan on a P228 or 239 when I can, and I'd like a smallish revolver but I think I'll be getting an SP101 at the lightest, not an LCR. I just like the beefiness of Ruger's sturdier models and they've been proven for ages.

Agreed on running, but I don't see myself going that far, just maybe a jog and this belt will have to be cinched tight with the Milt Sparks at 3 o'clock on my hip until I can get a third handgun.

PF9 in a Belly Band for my normal 3 mile run in the park. Every couple of weeks I'll do a "Boots and Utes" 8 mile on a trail through the woods. For that one it's an issued Colt 1911 in a Uncle Mikes that is secured to my leg to keep the bouncing down. Your set up makes my 50 year old hip hurt just thinking about it.

Conceals well, stays in place and doesn't bounce around, and affordable. Can fit a Taurus PT145 or the smallest Glock easily. Has a divider pocket for either a knife/spare mag/flashlight. I keep a photocopy of my permit and ID and a few emergency dollars in it. Goes on easily and weighs nothing. Doesn't interfere with running or other exercises.

At best you'll end up with that around your ankles (with your sweats) trying not to trip and break you neck.

Get something purpose built for your job/walk. Thunderwear, undercarry shirt, etc.

Is the area where you walk that dangerous that you feel the need for all of that? I wear sports shorts and a T shirt; I carry my phone - but then MY area is safe to walk in; even the kids walk to the bus stop without fear of anything. Perhaps you need to walk in an area similar

well

Let me know how your phone is going to help you if a dog attacks, or someone NOT from your area is suddenly in your personal space.

For me, I use a Pistolware PT-2 and carry a Taurus PT111. It works great with no flopping or sweat on my gun.

I'm an avid runner, and for me, it's a fanny pack with my LCP, a reload, my phone, and extra pooper-scooper bags for the dogs (my favorite running partners).

The dogs and I cover a 4 mile loop averaging 8 minute miles, 3 times a week. There other days, we switch up between shorter/faster runs and longer slower hikes in the woods.
When hiking, i'll carry a real gun on a gun belt. But for running, no way.

It works for brisk walking but I'm not ready to start into a jog yet for maybe a week of getting used to walking. I didn't claim it was ideal, but it's what I've got so I'm making the best with what I can.

And, yeah, my neighborhood is kind of sketchy - - not the safest part of Salt Lake.

I sweat too much and only wear shorts and a t-shirt on my 2 mile runs. I only carry an SOG spring assisted blade on my runs. Realistically, the knife is more for loose dogs that I can't evade by hopping a few fences.

I can do my LCP IWB using a Remora holster on a light walk with the old dog, but no way with running shorts for 2 miles at brisk pace.

Let me know how your phone is going to help you if a dog attacks, or someone NOT from your area is suddenly in your personal space.

As I said, in MY area, those are not concerns. If they are in yours, then carry what you want, but going jogging as if you are going to war makes little sense - you'd be better off going to a gym and using the treadmill for a run if it that dangerous where you live

I have been carrying a keltec PF-9 in a bellyband. It works for the short runs I take with the dogs every day but I wouldn't want to use it for any of the longer distances runs I used to do. Been think about getting a NAA Mini in 22 mag and making a holster to go on an elastic arm band since the only thing I carry it for is snakes and dogs that won't leave mine alone.

I leave my guns at home and wear a pocketknife that clips onto my waistband when I run.

While I admire your enthusiasm, I think I might find all the belted gear a bit uncomfortable (bouncing) during a jog, but probably ok for power walking. Assuming I’m jogging during daylight hours, my preference would probably be a single mouse gun and phone. Possibly a SIG P238 in a fanny pack or Smart Carry holster.

I tend to run in normal clothing since I'm not a serious runner only 2miles at a run 1min, walk 1min intervals. Since I'm in normal clothes I just carry my EDC. When I run with my Dad who is a serious runner I tend to wear running clothes and carry just a folding knife and a speed strip, speed loader and my S&W 642 IWB.
Also have DL, CHP and cell phone as well.
Here's my EDC. (Yes I'm paranoid, but I'm to lazy to take it off:neener:).

Nice rig, Hometeached1! I would like to get a G29 for the home arsenal...arguably a better choice than an all-steel 1911 for walking/jogging, I suppose! ;)

Been think about getting a NAA Mini in 22 mag
^^^^This is what I use. Mine has a 'Holstergrip" factory folding grip that has a belt clip like a folding knife. It rides IWB under the elastic band/drawstring of my running shorts.
If you are going to get a NAA revolver, I urge you to try the 'Holstergrip'. You wont be sorry.

I had 70cc pulled off my knee, and cortizone shot last month. I think my running days are over.
