Share pictures and details of your precision rifle.

I searched and we have a few of these threads, but many of the pictures are missing and the threads are inactive, so I thought I'd start a new one.

I'll get it started. I've had this rifle for a few years, but have only recently gotten a decent scope and started load development for it.

Remington SPS Tactical .223
VLS stock
Leupold VX-2 6-18x40
EGW bolt knob

I tested a few different work up loads but this one seems the most promising at the moment. Only 3 shots at 100 but looking ok, the squares are 1"
target_zps6c78ed4f.jpg

It unfortunately is now subject to remington's trigger recall, and I'm trying to decide what to do.

the 20 vartarg goes .2" at 100 and the ruger #1 in 270 win goes .3" at 100 yards.

300 WinMag built off of a trued and blueprinted Remington 700 action. It has a side bolt release, custom bolt knob, 24" Kreiger SS match barrel, custom built muzzle brake, Timney trigger set at 12 ounces. It also has a Harris BRM-S bipod (not pictured) with LaRue mount, Near scope base, NightForce ATACR scope with NightForce 34mm steel rings, Manners T5-A chassis and other details I am forgetting at the moment. The rifle is far more accurate than my shooting skills.

That was the pride and joy of A dear old friend that passed away 2years ago. I bought it from the estate. Just could not stand to see it go to A stranger. Not A good pic. looks much better in person.

V8stang, just put a new trigger in. That's what I did. a little over $100 for a Timney trigger and they are very easy to install yourself. Here is my Rem 700 AAC-SD in 308. Bell & Carlson A5 medalist stock, Precision armament M41 muzzle brake, timney trigger set at 2lbs, KRG bolt knob, Harris S-BRM 6-9 bipod, Millett LRS-1 6-25x56, and Wyatts detachable mag. So far it is shooting .5" at 100yards with 175 SMK's

From a Precision Rifle course, held 4/4/14-to-4/6/14 ...

TDI2014-10.jpg

WOA SPR upper - 18" SS barrel w/ 1/7 twist; scope is a Vortex PST 2.5-10x. Other items include a Giessele DMR trigger; PRI 3rd Gen foreend tube; ACC blackout FH; BF gear padded sling; Harris bipod w/ custom Schuster lock lever; and CTR stock w/ LaRue RISR cheekpiece, as used by S.F. operators everywhere ... ;)

TDI2014-7.jpg

Ammo used was Norma's 77gn Match .223. Wasn't a high round-count course, but I shot about 380-rds while also shooting a second rifle. Pic below shows the 4" black square on my 400yd target: 3-shots in the black; 4 hits inside 3.5". Do the MOA :D .

Yeah, it's a shooter ...

This is my M91/30 Mosin Nagant rifle with accouterments. This is an extremely accurate example and serves as my precision/long range interdiction weapon. I am looking to upgrade it with a LER/pistol scope in the near future.

mosinjpeg.jpg

Might not be your idea of a precision rifle, but this thing hits to POA and it's what I use it for. Mosin Nagant rifles are still used all over the world in the roll of an ersatz sniper rifle even to this day. This is mainly due to the wide availability of the rifle and it's 7.62x54mmR ammunition, but it remains an effective and dangerous weapon even if not as accurate as some options.

CZ 550 Varmint Laminated Stock .22-250. Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24x50 scope.

Farthest I have shot it is about 150 yards...which was about how far the groundhog in the picture was.

Remington 700 in .308 with a Leupold Mk4 2.5-8X on top and detachable magazine. Bell and Carlson Tactical Medalist stock in Freedom Green. X-mark trigger on it, but with the recall, i'll probably update to timney at some point.

that's reloaded .308 winchester brass, 47 grains of CFE223 and Hornady 150 gr soft point bullets.

Not sure if these count, they shoot around 1" to 1.2"

Springfield M1A I bought from a friend and rebuilt with his help about 20 years ago to get into Service Rifle Match shooting.

HK 308 I built from a blank receiver just for grins.

I have put together a few precision rifles but the one I am most proud of is my 6mmBR. It is based on a Savage intermediate single shot "J" action. It has been trued and timed and has a Sav-2 trigger set at 6 ounces. A select match Shilen bull 26" barrel. Fully adjustable butt plate and cheek rest. All aluminum and stainless polished to a mirror finish. The stock was carved out by me using a hand router and rasp/sandpaper from a laminate blank. It as my first ever stock that I carved out from scratch. Put quite a few hours into the stock and then coated it with ten coats of automotive clear polished to a mirror. Color and gloss is a little flashy, but hey if you are going to be a bear be a Grizzly! Bedding with Devcon Steel and custom aluminum pillars. Really happy with the way it turned out but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet!!! To busy lately with my new 6.5 CM build and casting bullets for a 45-70 and working up a load.

Nothing truly fantastic but it's seen a good bit of 1000 yard action as you might can tell from the back drop. To bad I can't see well enough to shoot 1000 yards these days.
