AR Scope Mounts

I've got that same Bushnell scope, mounted mine with a Weaver 30mm SPC mount. I had a a Trijicon TriPower before, and the Bushnell offered everything I was looking for in a scope. I've got a carbine length gas system and my front sight disappears before I get to 2x. At 1x, the reticle is just above my front sight.
I was curious about this. Thanks for the description.

Aero Precision makes a lightweight & strong mount for a good price. It's normally $85, which is an excellent value, but now it's on sale for $73

oooh, I like that aero mount. wish I wasn't cheap and already had a mount :)

I don't know how anybody mounts a scope with the lens right over or even to the rear of the charging handle. With either an A2 stock or a carbine stock fully extended, my nose is touching the charging handle, and the occular lens would be sticking out of my eye socket the way I see most people's scopes mounted. I had to go with an Extended mount (from Primary Arms -- $60) to get proper eye relief on mine. The PA mount has held up extremely well under hard use, but it is a good 1/8" higher than the iron sight plane, making it hard to get good cheek weld (which is already compromised by having to rest my cheek on the carbine buffer tube). I'm not sure if any of the more expensive mounts are any better in this regard, though. Anyway, here is what my setup looks like. The scope is far enough forward that you can flip up the rear sight with the scope mounted.

Best deal going right now on a scope/mount combo for ARs is the Bushnell AR Optics Series @ Amazon. Buy one of the Bushnell scopes and get an excellent Millet mount that doesn't require rings free.

Here's my AR with the 3x9 mounted. Also have the 4.5-18. Great scopes for the money. Love the side focus and size for AR use.

Probably more than you want to pay, but I just ordered another Bobro Engineering mount from Midway USA - $30 off $200 - check their front page for coupon codes good 'til March 22nd - coupons are probably only good towards regularly priced merchandise.

Codes are: MAR15 ($15 off $100), MAR30 ($30 off $200), MAR 45 ($45 off $300).

They sent me an e-mail - had the Nikon P-22 scopes (model with the NikoPlex reticle) for $109.95 delivered - I couldn't let that pass - I have one of the P-22 scopes with the BDC reticle - a great little scope IF it was 1st Focal Plane (since it has BDC reticle).

'Course, after getting a deal on the scope, the QD mount ate a hole in the wallet! :banghead:

Just checked - the P-22 scopes at that price are all gone.

I guess a lot of us (most of us?) have more control over where we place out noses. The "preferred" placement of a scope on an AR is for the eyepiece to be just about flush with the rear of the charging handle.

I don't have any problems with eye relief, mounting my scopes that way, and I have a lot of ARs with a lot of different scopes.

That's where all mine are also.

It's all about Bobro. Best stuff out there. I might never buy anything else as long as they're in business.
