I pulled the bullets out of some aluminum 44Spl cases a while back and loaded some magnums with the bullets.

Now I have these cases sitting around. Charge with a light load of 700X, Titegroup or Bullseye and seat a bullet maybe?

What say you guys?

Since they haven't been fired yet, I can't think of any reason to not use them. And as long as they get a roll crimp, resizing shouldn't be necessary.

What did you do with the powder from those rounds when you pulled the bullets? Bet you wish you'd kept that powder, huh?

I only had a whack a mole bullet puller at the time so the powder ended up getting dumped into a container and later, up in smoke.

I've got plenty of 700-X on the shelf so no worries on powder.

Shoot wax loads..

"What to do with primed aluminum cases? "

Here's the problem..If you pulled factory seated bullets, the case tension is gone, or has very little case tension..

You will need to resize case to hold another projectile (Other than Wax).

Good chance when you resize you get aluminum 'Specs' in your size die-this will "Groove" your next brass cases that you resize...Now you NEED to polish out the aluminum 'Specs'..

You can 'Cookie Cut' wax loads out of a block of parifin wax--shoot with just primer.. This MAY?? cause the primer to back out+lock up your revolver??

Best bet--Throw away Aluminum Cases..:uhoh:

Ill reload steel all day but wont touch aluminum. Every time ive messed with aluminum, it has split extremely easily while sizing, flaring or seating. save the primers on the boxer primed ones and pitch the rest in the fire!

I'm with the save the primer group. Get rid of that. A reloader has no business with aluminum cases.

You guys do realize the aluminum cases he is talking about have not been shot yet, right? If they are not safe to shoot once they shouldn't be sold as ammo but they are.

It may immaterial anyway. Can't seem to find them.

A fellow on a Facebook reloading page was asking for spent ones to do some sort of electronics work with them. Since mine still have live primers I needed a creative way to bust them (other than playing cap gun, which still sounds like fun) before I sent. No way I'm going to deal with hazmat fees to send someone live primers they don't want.

I may just see if I can punch out the primers with my decapping die since aluminum is fairly soft. That way he gets clean cases to boot.

With what powder and load?

FWIW I quit shooting blazer about a decade ago, actually the 2006 IDPA nationals to be exact. When on a stage I noticed that the firing pin stop had been eroded, looked like it had been hit with a plasma cutter.

At least mine was an easy to replace part, since then I have found others that have had similar problems but on the breech face.

Guess some of them don't seal the chamber and gas is getting out where it is not supposed to go. I would say you got your money out of them when you pulled the on the first place. If you were willing to throw away the powder you should have done the same with the cases IMO.
