At the tender age of 70, I finally pulled the string and bought my grail gun. I've been shooting trap for 46 years, modern, muzzle loading, and BPC. In 1969, I shot a friend's Superposed Broadway and declared that someday I'd have one like it. In '72, I bought an 870TB and have put over 300,000 shells through it, winning more than a few club and area titles. I've played with three different BT99s, a Daley, a Citori, a Cynergy, and several other guns. Always went back to "Tibbie". Found a nice Superposed Lightning in a local ad for a giveaway price. 1964, choked I.M. and F, and in at least 90% condition. And...it feels good.
Bought it. Did a full cleanup. Can't wait for league next Thursday. I'm planning on using it for our doubles league also.
No questions, just expressing joy.

Thanks for sharing the joy - congratulations on the find. I hope it fits you as if you were born with it in your hands...

For those who don't know, how differently do the Superposed guns handle, compared to the Citori's? I've heard some people describe the Citori's as handling like a fence-post - I assume that the Superpose guns don't handle the same way?...

Good luck with it Papa ! I tried an o/u Perazzi MX-15 one time coming off a Model 12. I didn't do so well, was too front heavy for me.

Congrats on your great find, PapaG!! I really hope it works out very well for you! Superposed shotguns are extremely rare these days in my neighborhood.

JA73, Nah, Citori's handle like a 2x4!! Of course, I'm a Beretta guy. (Of course). But, the Browning Citori shooters claim Berettas feel like a buggy whip! Different strokes, I suppose. Don't know how a Superposed handles, as I've never had the good fortune to shoot one, but it is a totally different gun than the Citori.

I once thought that I would pick up a superposed when I found one reasonably priced. Last fall I found one...at a shop with a range...and they let me test drive the old girl. At $600 for a shooter needing love it was a great price but the gun didn't fit. Smooth, beautiful, extremely nice gun but it just didn't work out. Same day I bought my first rem11 and am hooked. I'm glad other folks still love the old smooth bores instead of the modern doodad gas operated rotating bolt doomaflotchie having best gun ever that just don't work all that well. Treat that thing nice and pass it on to someone who will appreciate it.

Thursday is league night. Planning on shooting a couple practice rounds, one from 16, one from our team's handicap yardage. Hope to hit higher than my present average (46.5). We have had terrible weather for the first seven weeks. I usually am around 47.5.
Understand there will be a learning curve. Been shooting TB for 42 years. Not gonna tell it that it has a rival. Could turn on me. Did put it in timeout on a few occasions.

First trial tonight at summer league. Got there early and shot a 16 yard practice round with the I.M. barrel...25/25. Had a couple extra shells, shot them at 27 and smoked both with the F.C. barrel.
League results: 24/25 from 16, 23/25 from 21. Keeper. Puffs of smoke when I was centered. Best part is it shoots the same as my aging TB Remington.
Son #1 is shooting my late brother's TC and he shot a 48. Fun.
