Got myself a Ruger SR1911 Commander today!

I've liked the SR1911s ever since I watched Hickok45's review a few years ago. Well today I came across the Commander version and had to have it! No range report yet, but it fits my hand well, looks pretty, and will probably be carried IWB in the winter months once I've broken it in and practiced with it. My first 1911 (and I always said I'd never get a 45ACP)

Nice buy, sir! I upgraded my Taurus PT1911, which I still think is a great gun, to the SR1911 Commander. It shoots sraight and true.

It's always referred to as one's "first 1911." Or second, third, etc.

Good choice Congrats .. I did not think I wanted a 45 until I shot one . A good friend had to sell a pistol .. Unexpected expenses put him in a pinch . I helped him out . Now I have 4 different 45's including the Match Master I got from him .. Enjoy your Ruger .. Good gun and a great caliber ..

I think the Ruger Commander looks like (and feels like) a great value. I already have two 1911's, one is a Springfield LW Commander that has had a lot of home gunsmithing upgrades. If I didn't have this one, I'd be getting the Ruger.

Congrats!

The SR1911 is on my short list. I have not owned a 1911 in years but I plan to pick one up and it will probably be a Ruger. Only thing I don't like is the two tone in terms of the controls.

They are among the best values in 1911's, and they look good also, good luck, I have been trying to decide myself which one I want. I have had too many to remember how many. But sold them all off for lack of use, now I want one again.
