I just purchased my first suppressor, which is a .30 cal can with the primary use being for my .300blk AR. I purchased a Keechi Creek Arms suppressor, which is the brand of a local builder. When I got it home I disassembled it an measured the baffles to have a 0.396" hole in the center, this is a little bigger than I was expecting for a .30 cal can. How much clearance do most .30 cal cans have, like the YHM Phantom, AAC 762 SDN and the SilencerCo Saker 762? With 220gr subsonic my AR sounded about as loud as a paintball gun. I wouldn't exactly call it quiet, but defiantly not loud. Is this about the normal sound level for .300blk with a good suppressor?

There is no standard but one company I took a suppressor course with commonly uses .030 over on the radius so a .308 can would have .368 holes in the baffles. Another company I know of that offers muzzle brakes also uses .060 over for the I.D.

Ok, so based on that this suppressor has extra clearance. I also just measured my muzzle brake and it has an ID of 0.333. I wonder what the bore is on the popular .30 cal suppressors? Can anyone with a .30 cal suppressor chime in one what the bore of their suppressor is?

Just curious, why'd you go with a local guy instead of a bigger manufacturer?
Because when I went into my local gun store they had a gun smith that made them and I figured I'd like to support a local busies. If everyone just buys everything online there won't be any local gun shops. Also when I did a little googling I only found good things about this make. It looks like they are known for making a custom Ruger 77 in .357 and .44 cal with integrated suppressors that are known for being good and quiet. At the end of the day I got a SS .30 cal can for $600 and a barrel on another one of my uppers cut down and threaded for free with the purchase so I'm happy with it. All of the machining on the k-baffles, end cap and outer shell looks to be well done. Just wondering how this can compares to ones from some of the larger manufactures. I also like that it's user serviceable as I plan to shoot some .22 lr through it as well. I haven't gotten my .22 barrel back yet to try it out with .22 lr yet.

So is it normally quieter when through a good .30 cal can?

I couldn't say. Haven't shot my 6.5" 300 BLK with a .30 cal can.

Don't talk yourself into buyer's remorse. There's a lot of opinions when it comes to cans. Sometimes sound signatures are different, even where the suppression level in decibels is comparable. The only real way to know whether your can is as quiet as another is to meter them back-to-back with the same host and same decibel meter setup.

If you're happy with the level of suppression, that's all that matters. Most cans are a balance between weight (materials) and suppression level.

If it sounds like a paintball gun on subsonic 300 blackout it is suppressing well. If that is a 16" barrel then it will be louder on an SBR. I wouldn't be too concerned about the tolerances if it sounds good to your ear. Every can is a law of physics unto itself.

Liberty uses square bores in some of their centerfire suppressors to good effect with low blow back and the square geometry has a lot of tolerance at the corners. The bore on your .30 suppressor is only a little tighter than my 9mm Guardian 9 can (approx .400") so you may be able to run it on 9mm carbines as well (without a booster it wouldn't work on a pistol). Just as a point of reference the Octane 45 does well with subsonic 300 BO and it is bored bigger than your can. A good .30 can will likely have tighter bore tolerances and may be quieter (on a meter but maybe not to your ears) but also perhaps bigger, heavier, costlier, and likely sealed. Put that can on a .300 BO Handi-Rifle with hand loads from 90gn and up and powders other than AA1680 or H110 and you'll be amazed how quiet you can make it.

I predict a .22 suppressor in your future and a lifelong quest for threaded muzzles ;-)
