My favorite? Why not possibly one of the most recognized rifles in the settling of the West and the title of a Jimmy Stewart western? You only get 1873 guesses.

Cheers

P.S. I ain't rich, so the top three are merely clones

Winchester pre '64 Model 70 "Alaskan" in .338 Win. mag. The rest of my days will be filled with anguish for letting myself be talked out of it.

My favorite rifle.

My current favorite rifle is a custom 30-06 I got a few years ago. I admired the rifles quality and looks so much that I have used it for both off season varmints and the later deer seasons.

It's on a DWM mauser action with a stock with excellent checkering and wood quality. The 22" barrel is octagon! The rifle has a three position M70 type safety.

I really can't pick just one.

My favorite rimfire rifle is a 1948-vintage Remington 550-1 that I found last year. It's a tackdriver. Shown below on the left with a Remington Apache 77 on the right.

My favorite black powder longarm is my GL Dech customized Dixie TMR flinter.

My favorite rifle in a round larger than .223 is my 1944-vintage Fazakerly No.4 Mk.I, even though I'm a lefty. My club's Practical Rifle program has an annual WW2-themed match. This is me shooting it last year at the 200 yard steel.

My favorite centerfire semiauto is Frankenstein, an AR15 that I built from an 80% lower + a Spike's midlength upper.

My other favorite which I no longer own

The Stevens Model 15 was my first rifle some 50 plus years ago. Given to me by my Dad one Christmas. I sure wish I still had it.

It's so hard to pick.

I've got a Garand in 30:06

A Garand in 308; Navy refurb from the 50's

And a Tanker Garand in 308.

Yeh, it's the M1 Garand Rifle.

Love wood and steel.

As Dave Markowitz said (for his rifles larger than .223), my Enfield #4/Mk. 1 trio.

But as for the most frequent use, the pair of Yugo 59 ("Pre-bayo") SKS. Why? It's hard to beat modern retail centerfire ammo at .20/rd.

That's the primary reason why I've never even used a friend's near-mint Colt AR, which is stored in my safe.
kvtcomdo mentioned "Love wood and steel".

My 257 Roberts Browning Micro Medallion. Small, light and kills deer well.

One is my Hawkins rifle and the other a Ruger 30.06 American.
May not be the best on the market but I am proficient with both.

Honestly,,,

I haven't found my favorite as yet.

When I do it could easily be a Ruger Number 1 single-shot,,,
Or it could be a bolt-action of some ilk,,,
It certainly will not be a semi-auto.

CZ 453 Varmint 22LR. It hits anything I point it at.

I don't like it.

OK, OK.

I've shown my reverence for the Garand.

But upon further review.

It may just be whatever rifle i'm shooting at the time.

Can not choose the one. Different rifles for different uses, I like them all even if some get more range time. I do love my Browning semi-automatic ones...
