West 38th Avenue between Sheridan Boulevard and Harlan. Easy to get to.

FFL, 25yds, five lanes, up to .30-06, well-kept, ventilation good, fair lighting over the benches, fair amount of parking, zero snottiness from the staff. Zero, null, nada, 0.00. Very helpful in all matters. Good stock of rental and consignment guns. Good training classroom.

Recommend double hearing protection since it's fairly small and the echoes are bad if someone's firing a Laudenboomeröhrgebrechenergewehr or a magnum pistol. Tell the ladies to take off their earrings and sweep their hair up for a better seal with the muffs.

Membership required and limited, but you can go on a guest pass. IDed sign-in required. Read the on-line rules first. No exposed firearms in the parking lot, and things like that.

100-yard indoor rifle range, shooting from bench only, to avoid "missing" the backstops, standing allowed on pistol ranges. Lanes can be reserved on-line for members.

Excellent selection of rental and new-for-sale guns. First time I ever handled a Chiappa Rhino was there.

Both sons are members and I shoot up there on their guest passes.

That's about enough right there, to sign up. Pretty rare in this hobby Ive noticed.

There should be more input here, since there are other ranges dotted around. It's been years since I went to any others, so I can't comment on them myself anymore.

In addition, there are a lot of informal places in the mountains and National Forests to shoot, as well as up on the Pawnee National grasslands bordering Wyoming.

However, my limited mobility has kept me from the mountains and grasslands for a number of years now, so I can't comment on the latest situations there. I am given to understand that although the forests and grasslands are supposed to be multi-use areas, the "multi" part is being limited more and more to birdwatching and photography and hiking and other politically-correct uses.

There have been a number of threads here (and on other sites) regarding your question, but I'm not disposed to search for them with the typical site search functions.

Hopefully, more folks will respond with more information for you.

For sporting clays you'll have to drive east a bit, past Brighton. Highway 7 is an easy way out east from that part of town. About 3-4 miles east of Brighton is a place called Colorado Clays. They seemed okay. I don't use it very often because I have a private range membership. They are open to the public.

Trigger time in Longmont has a great indoor pistol range out to 25 and indoor rifle range out to 100. Cherry Creek has a 50 and 100 yard rifle range and I don't remember how far out their pistol range goes. Silver Bullet in Wheatridge is a small 5 lane indoor pistol range out to 25 yards, great staff but the clientele... well there are lots of holes in the ceiling and walls.

The Pawnee national grasslands are a favorite, there are even some dedicated shooting areas with constructed lanes and berms, but the wind is always brutal out there.

Be very careful about driving into the Denver city limits with a gun of any kind in your car. They are about the same as New York. Other than that there are a lot of places to shoot. The Grasslands are still open but they are much more crowded than 20 years ago. I have access to a private range so I cannot give you much help, but welcome to a great area, except for the leftists.

If you want to head south of Denver, there are some places. Centennial Gun Club off I-25 for one. I've never been there but have a friend who works there. Cherry Creek State Park has several ranges, but it is both expensive and they look over your shoulder too much for my tastes. If you want to go to a totally unsupervised range I know a place near Buffalo Creek up in the mountains, about an hours drive.
