So, I'm giving my Tokarev to my best friend as a wedding gift because he's hit a run of bad luck and really likes Tokarevs and I'm somewhat bored of it. I have a 45ACP Rock Island 1911-CS, but I want another gun, small and light enough to carry in Oklahoma summer. I'd like to get some feedback on the FEG AP 7.65mm (32ACP), because it's priced pretty reasonably. I know it's a PP clone, but not much else. Any information or opinions appreciated.

Whatever I get, I'd like something big enough to be comfy and under $400. Consistent triggers are a plus but not required. Your thoughts?

I'm a big fan of FEG handguns and own two of the 7.65's along with about 10 other FEG's of different calibers. For the current prices its hard to beat them for what they are. Both of mine are accurate and a pleasure to shoot. I also have a good number of other handguns for range and carry.

All that said, with a budget of under $400 you may be able to find a bargain on a newer gun with more parts availability.

The FEG' pistols are well made, reliable & accurate. The AP is a nice pocket or CC piece & has a good reputation. Several guns in that price range are better choices. Like the S&W, SD9VE or SD40VE. These are a service size pistols, but can still be used for CC. The customer service is better also! Good luck.

I have the .22lr version. It's a solid pistol. The only weakness is the less than outstanding finish, but for the price it's a fine firearm.

I like FEG guns and have owned a few in different calibers, including the AP7 in .32. They are always reliable and accurate. They used to be out there under $200, which made them a real bargain. I have seen prices going up over $300 on all models in this area, which puts them in the range of a S&W SD, Ruger LCP, Taurus, etc.
If you can find an FEG at a reasonable price, buy it. They are fine guns and have that Walther PP feel to them that a plastic pistol can't match.

Have you considered a Bersa Thunder .380? They are around $300 right now. They are great guns and from what I've heard, they have good customer service. I've never had to use their CS.

The FEG .32 is pretty much a direct copy of the Walther PP with an aluminum frame.
One that I played with would accept PP magazines and fed and fired just fine but recoil was snappier than that from my steel frame PPs.
Forget hollowpoints too, stick with FMJ ammo for reliable function.

They're good quality pistols. I own both the 7.62 version and the 9x18 version. The .32acp version is much more comfortable and has a better trigger, most likely because they were built for civilian sales rather than military use. Maybe I just got one that has had the springs swapped, I dunno.

Your $400 price range lets you consider guns like the Tristar C100, which is basically an aluminum framed CZ Compact. It's got a better trigger, a higher capacity, and is new.

Yes the DA trigger is heavy, but SA is crisp. The trigger pull can be altered with new springs.

If you're looking for an SD pistol, the FEG PA-63 ( 9x18 Mak) at Wideners is a great deal right now. $209 shipped to your FFL, with 2 mags, a holster and a cleaning rod. I bought 2 of them, they are pristine. I have an affection for the 9x18, ammo being generally cheaper than .380 and more spunky !! Spring kits are available at gunsprings.com. My usual spring adjustment is an extra strength recoil spring and an 11# or 13# hammer spring. Seems to tune them up quite nicely. My primary summer carry pistol is the SMC-918 ( commercial short barrel version).

In the pic, ignore the Taurus TCP at the bottom, the rest are FEG.
