I have a lot of 1911 other than SIG 1911s and I have sold a lot of 1911s as well. I started out a Colt man and I wouldn't own anything but a Colt but lately I have this Signess.

And it is spreading quickly.

My 5th:

Nothing wrong at all with a bit fondness for SIG 1911s. I'm a Colt fan myself but also have my share of SIG pistols. Like your SIG STL900L laser /light module; I have one on my P229R which I have as my HD gun.

That's what this new one is going to be; my HD gun.

My carry gun is my SIG Commander Bobtail, colloquially called by SIG the Nightmare Carry:

Yeah they are great! I wish I could get a Nightmare here in so. cal.:fire:

My first Sig a 1911 Black Nitron, is at the gunsmith getting a new match grade Wilson Combat barrel and a skeleton trigger.

I know the gun will always be a better shooter than my abilities, but I want less excuses to lean on and more to practice on!

I have 3-1911, 2-p226, an sp2022, a few glocks. . . . . .a

be safe

I hear that, bought a Sig Carry Nightmare a month or so ago, it's one of my favorites. Did have the trigger worked as it wasn't fabulous out of the box. Ergonomics are great for me.

Also picked up a Sig 320 recently, my Glock 17 is for sale :)

Still, I did not care for the Sig M1A1 I had about a year ago, didn't shoot well for me no matter what I did.

An X5 Super Match is in my future.

I've owned dozens of 1911's over the years and as I gradually got rid of my less expensive 1911's because I was bit by the semi-custom/custom bug, I never was able to part with my un-cataloged Sig Tacops Commander.

I had the threads cut and target crowned and a trigger job done by Rob at Benchmark Precision and no matter what else I get this is still one of my favorite 1911's.

Shown along side my newest acquisition, the X-Short.

bikemutt, I have serious envy over your 320. I can't find them where I am yet.

cpirtle, I didn't know they made a commander TacOps. Cool! I may need another.

I have a Sig "Fastback"... it's basically the "Nightmare", but finished in all Nitron, with rosewood grips. Long story short - love the gun and it functions very, very well.

The only down-side is that the slide profile is not traditional 1911, so many holsters will not fit the Sigs that have their more squared-off slides. I had to look a long time to find a holster that I liked, that would fit the Sig as it should.

I've found the Sig to have many options that others don't have that are in the same price range. Nice guns for the money!

According to Sig - they didn't :)

When I bought mine it came packaged with 4 mags and was fitted with a threaded barrel. I knew I didn't want the barrel so I called Sig to price a replacement non-threaded and the customer service person told me my pistol did not exist. This is about 4 years ago.

That being said, it looks like they now have a model without the threaded barrel, still looks like it's un-cataloged, but I was able to find one on Gunbroker. I think I paid a couple Hondo's less than this guy is asking though..

My first and only 1911 is a Sig. Still have it and it'll be extremely unlikely that I'll ever let it go. A buddy has had a number of comparable brands of 1911s that I've been able to shoot, but I still favor my Sig over all of them. The only other 1911 that I've enjoyed shooting as much as mine was a Dan Wesson. A random guy let me try his out at the range and I was very impressed.

I was feeling a bit saucy at the range one day and found a target that a 22 shooter barely used and discarded so I took a crack at 100yrds off hand. I had already shot 16 rounds at the 25 yard line which I regularly practice at so the rest of the 34 rounds punched the target below. I felt pretty good only missing with 5 of those shots.

My Nitron Rail and another target from another forum I'm on. Yes, I use different user names.
